Ban Assault Weapons: The List

The fight for gun safety is not over, in many ways it's just beginning.

As folks who champion progress, we cannot simply offer our thoughts and prayers to those affected by gun violence in the United States.

Too many lives have been lost in our community, and it is time for the federal government to take meaningful action. To protect innocent Americans and to put an end to this senseless bloodshed, Congress must pass a law banning assault weapons. A discharge petition and other bills have been introduced into Congress, however there are several members of Congress who have not stepped up to support this life saving policy.

Calls-to-Action

Now is the time to demand our elected officials act; we cannot afford to wait any longer. People Power United members believe in the possibility of change and work to make it happen. Here is a people powered action we can take to make our community safer:

1. Call your member of Congress (202) 224-3121 and tell them “Urgent Action is needed to ban assault weapons. Our families and friends are being slaughtered by weapons of war, and assault weapons must be banned.” We especially need calls from members in the states mentioned above on the list.
