Breaking News: VP Kamala Harris will visit an abortion clinic today
⭕⭕ Abortion is a form of healthcare, and today, Vice President Kamala Harris will be the first vice president to visit a clinic that offers abortion services.
In honor of her historic visit, we're pushing for Freedom over Fascism with our letters to lawmakers to codify Roe into law. Congress must Protect Abortion Access and Pass the Women's Health Protection Act.
We're still advocating for Reproductive Freedom after the Supreme Court overturned Roe V. Wade.
As a result of the Supreme Court ruling, one in three women of reproductive age, plus trans and nonbinary people, are blocked from abortion care in their home state. More than 64000 women and girls have been forced to give birth because they were raped in states that implemented abortion bans after Roe v. Wade was overruled. Women are three times more likely to leave the workforce, and Women are four times more likely to live in poverty.
Not surprisingly, states with abortion bans report some of the country's poorest economic indicators:
Higher maternal mortality rates.
Worse health care outcomes.
Economic losses of over $101 billion annually.
The Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA) has been introduced into Congress and will protect a woman's health, ability to make her own decisions, and constitutional rights.
