Friends,

I've been sitting with this for hours, trying to find the words to match the weight of today's news. House Republicans just passed their version of a cruel, backward budget, one that will throw millions into deeper housing insecurity, cut off life-saving health care, strip food assistance, gut U.S. manufacturing, and push families into financial ruin, all while padding the pockets of billionaires and fueling the machinery of war.

It’s an assault on working families, on children, on seniors, on our sick, disabled, and poor community members, and on everyone fighting to survive paycheck to paycheck.

It’s a bill that prioritizes bombs over babies, a police state over public schools, and billionaire greed over basic human dignity.

But here's what I know in my bones:

💥 This is not the end of our story.
💪 This is the spark that will ignite a wave of people-powered resistance.

The real question we face is this: How much do we invest in each other?

Do we build a country where everyone has access to housing, food, health care, education, and a real shot at thriving?

Or do we let them drain our resources into corporate subsidies, ICE raids, police militarization, bloated defense spending, and the machinery of oppression, just to keep the rich richer and the rest of us fighting for scraps?

America is not made great by austerity or war.

It becomes great when every person feels safe and valued, and has a real chance of thriving.

This bill does none of that. But we will.

I'm angry. But I'm also hopeful.

Because every time they come for our rights and freedoms, we rise.

Every time they try to divide us, we organize.

And every time they try to silence us, we grow louder.

There is no mandate for this cruelty. Trump and his Republican cult of obedience do not speak for the vast majority of people in this country.

What House Republicans just passed isn’t a budget, it’s a budget of brutality and betrayal. It’s a billionaire backroom betrayal designed to enrich the wealthy while leaving working families out in the cold. At its core, this bill is a greedy, grotesque giveaway to corporations, war profiteers, and special interests, funded by ripping food off tables, slashing health care, and gutting investments in our communities. Make no mistake: this is a cruel, corrupt catastrophe, and the people will not forget who sold them out.

We are the many, and we are not backing down.

Yes, the harm Trump and Republicans are proposing will be real.
But so will our uprising.
A joyful uprising rooted in love, solidarity, and unshakable courage.

We are the resistors.
We are the builders.
We are the hope.
And we are just getting started.
