📢 Call to Action: Freedom Requires Action. 250 Years After Lexington; the Fight Is Still Ours
🗽People Power United is a grassroots group of over 250,000+ members in all 50 states-powered by people like YOU. We champion progress and power to the people.
In this community, we will always respect our different religious beliefs! I would like to wish all who are celebrating a happy Easter (April 20), happy Passover (April 12-20), and a year of spiritual rewards for all who celebrated Ramadan (February 28-March 29). Wishing you all a year of joyful abundance, peace, and renewed faith. May we all work together for a world that respects and empowers our different beliefs.

Yesterday, in Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts, a powerful reenactment marked the 250th anniversary of the start of the American Revolutionary War. Brave patriots once stood their ground against tyranny, confronting a king without respect for the rule of law, human dignity, or self-governance. They risked everything to build a nation rooted in freedom and justice.
Today, 250 years later, we find ourselves facing a different kind of threat—not from a foreign monarch, but from within: a would-be dictator named Donald Trump, who continues to trample our rights, disregard the rule of law, and undermine democracy at every turn.
Fascism does not storm in overnight—it slithers in through silence. It thrives when good people choose inaction when fear outweighs courage, and when apathy becomes the norm. We must recognize the warning signs for what they are. Trump has shown us exactly who he is: a power-hungry narcissist who aligns himself with dictators, disrespects democratic institutions, and rules by manipulation, fear, and chaos. History has taught us this lesson too often—we cannot afford to ignore it now.
Let's be clear: Donald Trump may hold the title of president, but he is no leader. Nearly 80% of people who call America home didn't vote for him or his cult of obedience agenda. His regime does not define us. What does define us is how we respond.
This is our moment—not to shrink back, but to rise. It's time to build a resilient and inclusive movement to stop the ambitions of the corrupt and the powerful who seek to crush our freedoms.
I remember when I first called Trump a fascist and a wannabe dictator. Some said I was exaggerating. But time has only proven the point. From the disgraceful treatment of President Zelenskyy to his disturbing loyalty to Vladimir Putin—calling him "the apple of my eye"—Trump has shown again and again that he values authoritarianism over democracy. He openly threatens NATO allies and praises strongmen while betraying American allies. Even his former officials—like Mark Milley and John Bolton—have warned us of his dangerous, lawless behavior.
So why won't Republicans stop him? The answer is simple: fear, loyalty, and corruption. Trump's inner circle operates like a mob syndicate. As Michael Cohen said, "He speaks in code." The Republican Party has become the Party of Putin, prioritizing personal power and vengeance over American values. Those who dare to stand against Trump are threatened or destroyed.
This is not democracy—it is tyranny dressed in red, white, and blue.
But fascism only wins if we let it. The truth is—we are not powerless. Together, we are strong. Unity is our greatest weapon, and we've we've proven that again and again.
We stood with our Muslim brothers and sisters, denouncing the Trump 1.0 travel ban.
We stood with the students and parents demanding gun safety reform after the tragedy in Parkland.
We stood shoulder to shoulder with activists at ICE detention centers, fighting for fundamental human rights and against family separation.
We rallied at the Supreme Court after the fall of Roe v. Wade, refusing to be silent.
And we continue to rise with brave Americans who believe that "liberty and justice for all" must truly mean for all—not just the wealthy and powerful.
America is brave because you are brave.
But bravery requires action. If we remain silent, we will lose our rights, our freedoms, and our democracy.
So today, I ask you:
Will you stand with us?
Will you rise for competent, compassionate, qualified leadership?
Will you speak out, show up, and build people power?
At People Power United, we take action every day. And our ask is simple: 20 minutes daily for your civic duty. That's all it takes. Everyday on this newsletter we give you the tools and actions to take action like:
✅ Sign a petition
✅ Write a letter
✅ Send letters and postcards to Voters
✅ Register Voters
✅ Make an impact at Town Hall Meeting
✅ Make an impact at a protest or rally
✅ Hold leaders accountable through committees
✅ Build power through civic engagement
✅ Speak up in your circles
Every small act adds up to something powerful.
Freedom isn't guaranteed. It's earned. Protected. Defended.
Not with violence—but with peaceful, determined civic action.
When we say "fight," we mean fierce advocacy. Not harm. Not hate. But truth in action.
Democracy doesn't defend itself. We do.
This is our Lexington. This is our Concord.
This is our moment to rise—together—for a country that belongs to all of us.
And we will not back down.

"This is our Lexington. This is our Concord." Yes, and I'd add that this is our Euromaidan, too. I constantly take inspiration from the valiant people of Ukraine, who are fighting for their freedom again over a decade after the Revolution of Dignity.
