What to Know About JD Vance and Project 2025
NY Times By Simon Levien
Democrats have hammered former President Donald J. Trump and Senator JD Vance of Ohio, his running mate, over Project 2025, a conservative policy plan that pledges a radical transformation of the federal government. At the vice-presidential debate on Tuesday, Mr. Vance will spar with Vice President Kamala Harris's running mate, Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota. Mr. Walz has repeatedly sought to tie Mr. Vance to the project, while Mr. Vance has tried to distance himself from it.
Project 2025 calls for the âbreak upâ of NOAA, commercialized weather service forecasts
The Hill By Rachel FrazinÂ
Project 2025, a controversial plan that seeks to inform a future conservative administration, calls for the âbreak upâ of the National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration (NOAA). NOAA houses the National Weather Service. The plan, spearheaded by the Heritage Foundation, says that the weather service should âfully commercialize its forecasting operationsâ and focus on providing data to private companies. It also calls for a âreviewâ of the work of the National Hurricane Center.
What does Project 2025 mean for disabled people?
Newsweek By Marni Rose McFallÂ
Project 2025 could pose significant risks to the disabled community during a hypothetical second term for former President Donald Trump, according to activists, lawyers and lawmakers. Policies set forth in the 900-page document from the Heritage Foundation, including the reduction or removal of public benefits like Medicaid and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), the potential elimination of the Department of Education and Head Start, have caused concern.
Trumpâs âHated To Give Overtimeâ Admission Prompts Stark Reminder Of Project 2025
HuffPost By Lee MoranÂ
Former president and current GOP nominee Donald Trump on Sunday admitted he âhatedâ to pay his staff overtime and would instead replace them with other workers to avoid doing so. Trumpâs confession came during a campaign rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, after promising to deliver âgigantic tax cutsâ via his pledge to end tax on tips, on overtime and on social security benefits for seniors. âI know a lot about overtime. I hated to give overtime. I hated it.
Project 2025 isnât going away
Boston Globe By Beau Breslin
Yes, Paul Dans, the architect of The Heritage Foundationâs far-right playbook for a new Trump administration, stepped down in July amid criticism from Donald Trump and his campaign about Project 2025. But make no mistake, it wasnât because the Republican presidential nominee doesnât agree with the goals laid out in the nearly 1,000-page document. Like most Trump strategies, this one is meant to deflect attention from other issues.
The guy behind Project 2025 says the climate agenda is worse than global warming
Mother Jones By Jackie Flynn MogensenÂ
As he took a seat on stage at a climate conference in New York City on Wednesday, Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts admitted that even he was surprised he had been invited to speak. Heritage, after all, is the conservative think tank behind Project 2025, a controversial policy wish list to reshape the federal government, including gutting many environmental regulations.
Big Tech Would Be Key to Delivering Project 2025âs Anti-Abortion Plans
Mother Jones by Julianne McShaneÂ
If Project 2025 becomes a reality under a second Trump term, there are several ways it plans to further restrict and surveil abortion access nationwide, including criminalizing the mailing of abortion pills and forcing states to turn over abortion data to the federal government. Many of these proposals have received wide media coverage thanks in part to Democratsâ aggressive campaigning on Project 2025.

Trumpâs Project 2025 Will Give Extreme MAGA Republicans Total Control
Donald Trumpâs Project 2025 is a blatant power grab that aims to give extreme MAGA Republicans unchecked authority. They plan to use this power to criminalize abortion, undermine the middle class, and dismantle Social Security and Medicare.
Under Trumpâs Project 2025, Republicans intend to impose a nationwide abortion ban and create a national registry to monitor womenâs pregnancies and miscarriages. They even threaten to imprison doctors and nurses who provide essential care.
If enacted, Project 2025 would also gut the Affordable Care Act, leading to higher healthcare costs for everyone and a loss of protections for pre-existing conditions. Workers would lose their right to overtime pay, and middle-class families would face tax hikesâall while wealthy corporations receive new handouts.
Republicans' Project 2025 includes a detailed plan to dismantle Social Security and Medicare as we know them. This means slashing benefits for seniors and allowing Big Pharma to charge exorbitant prices for medication.
