Fighting Project 2025:
POLITICO Harris and Trump brace for final sprint in ‘snap election'
Tuesday, September 3, 12:00 AM | By: Alex Isenstadt
Jen O'Malley Dillon, who is guiding Harris' campaign, described the Democratic ticket as 'clear underdogs' in a memo released Sunday that predicted voting margins in the top battleground states will be 'razor thin' again. Contrasting Harris' agenda with Project 2025 — the Heritage Foundation's controversial blueprint for the next Republican administration from which Trump has sought to distance himself — galvanizing voters around Harris' call to restore reproductive freedoms and leaning on a larger army of ground troops, Dillon asserted, could be difference-makers come November.
It has reserved $370 million in TV ads to reach battleground voters over the campaign's final nine weeks. And much of that spending will aim to focus voters on Project 2025. While Trump has sought to distance himself from the policy template, this spot — which is also airing in Trump's home market of Palm Beach, Florida, in a playful jab at the GOP nominee — highlights the former president's own comments about exacting revenge on his enemies should he win the White House again.

USA TODAY Millions more Americans lacked health insurance under Trump vs. Biden
Tuesday, September 3, 5:02 AM | By: Jeremy Lindenfeld
Project 2025, a blueprint for the next Republican administration created by conservative think tank the Heritage Foundation, calls for the next GOP president to implement lifetime caps on Medicaid benefits, a move that Murphy estimated could imperil the health care coverage of more than 18 million people.
Trump has distanced himself from Project 2025, but reports suggest that dozens of Project 2025 personnel have worked for Trump and that he has praised the Heritage Foundation's work on laying the groundwork for a future administration.

Friday, August 30, 5:53 PM | By: Abbie Cheeseman
Former president Donald Trump will headline an event sponsored by the Heritage Foundation in Washington on Friday, magnifying the struggle he faces in credibly distancing himself from Project 2025, a controversial policy plan the conservative think tank shepherded.
The Hill RFK Jr. says Trump has ‘changed as a person'

The independent candidate also defended Trump against reports that he's connected to the conservative Project 2025 agenda, unveiled this year by the Heritage Foundation. The former president and his campaign have aggressively distanced themselves from the 900-page agenda.
'And he brought this issue up to me and he said, you know, 'they always tell me I'm on for Project 2025. I never read Project 2025 until they started accusing me of it,' Kennedy said Friday. 'He said that was written by 'a right-wing a–hole.
