FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 12, 2024
People Power United declares Project 2025 is a clear and present danger to our rights, freedoms, democracy, and the rule of law.
In response to recent MAGA shenanigans to enact Project 2025, People Power United - a progressive grassroots group - issued the following statement:

People Power United will continue to oppose such harm to our community and champion civil rights for all.

USA TODAY Abortion law: Amid presidential debate, other state votes, where does Oklahoma stand?
Wednesday, September 11, 1:49 PM | By: Dale Denwalt
She also claimed that if Trump were elected, he would sign a national abortion ban and implement proposals found in Project 2025 that would boost the federal government's abortion surveillance reporting system.
Trump replied that he's not in favor of an abortion ban and said he wouldn't have to sign or veto such a law because abortion is now a state issue. He has also claimed to not have anything to do with Project 2025, which is a massive policy document crafted by conservative organizations and dozens of people who served in the Trump Administration.

Los Angeles Times ‘It was a rigged deal': Amid GOP criticism, Trump claims he did a ‘great job' at debate
Wednesday, September 11, 11:18 AM | By: National Correspondent
On Wednesday morning, Trump criticized moderators for not correcting Harris when she linked him with Project 2025, a lengthy plan for a second Trump administration put out by the right-wing Heritage Foundation. He has disavowed the plan, which was drawn up by many of his former staffers.

Finally, Trump doesn't have a plan for "Trumpcare," same old, same old. Trump claims to know nothing about Project 2025. Harris shows her ability to lead in her way, away from Biden.
New York Post Here's the fact check that ABC didn't give Kamala Harris
Wednesday, September 11, 2:43 PM | By: Post Editorial Board
Kamala claim: 'What you're going to hear tonight is a detailed and dangerous plan called Project 2025 that the former president intends on implementing if he were elected again.'
Fact check: The Heritage Foundation, an independent think tank, produced Project 2025, not the Trump campaign. Trump has repeatedly said he wasn't involved in its writing, does not believe in its policies and won't implement it.
The Hill Wall Street Journal: Harris ‘clearly won the debate'
Wednesday, September 11, 9:35 AM | By: Miranda Nazzaro
'They fact-checked only Mr. Trump, several times, though Ms. Harris offered numerous whoppers—on Mr. Trump's alleged support for Project 2025, Mr. Trump's views on in-vitro fertilization, and that no American troops are in a combat zone overseas,' the board wrote.

Roll Call In the Quad Cities or DC, Eric Sorensen is happy to talk about the weather
Wednesday, September 11, 10:25 AM | By: Jim Saksa
In addition to chitchatting about the weather — and Project 2025's plans to ax the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration — Sorensen sat down with Roll Call this summer to discuss what it's been like, as a gay man, to see recent Republican attacks on LGBTQ rights.
Q: What are your thoughts on the Project 2025 suggestion to break up NOAA and commercialize the National Weather Service?
CNBC House Speaker Johnson pulls government funding bill after GOP support collapses

'Extreme MAGA Republicans, led by Donald Trump, are determined to shut the government down unless they jam Trump's Project 2025 down the throats of the American people,' Jeffries said in that interview.
Opinion:
The Hill I used to work at Heritage. So here's my own personal ‘Project 2025.'
Wednesday, September 11, 11:30 AM | By: Paul Ryan
The left has taken to attacking the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025, perhaps because it's easier than defending the Biden administration's policies. But I worked at The Heritage Foundation from 2005 to 2012, and I can tell you the whole thing is a bit overblown.
I was a big fan of the book full of policy proposals, then known as 'Mandate for Leadership,' and now commonly referred to as Project 2025. Every four years, Heritage would update it with new proposals and retool old ones for current circumstances.
