Healthcare, Not Warfare: I Was in DC Today, and I Saw the Cost of Silence
Healthcare cuts will kill
Today, I stood with fellow activists at the Capitol to demand what every person deserves: healthcare, not warfare. We weren’t alone. Dozens gathered, voices raised in solidarity, some in wheelchairs, crying out for their right to live with dignity. And for that—they were arrested.
Yes, arrested. For demanding Medicaid. For fighting for their lives. For refusing to be silent while Congress threatens to gut healthcare funding to bankroll war and reward the wealthy. This is the crossroads we’re at: a government choosing bombs over babies, tax breaks over treatment, and defense contractors over disabled Americans.
I’m here in DC because I believe no one should have to beg for care. Because I believe families matter more than fighter jets. Because I refuse to accept a reality where our elders, our neighbors with disabilities, and our children are sacrificed to fund endless war and kidnappings by ICE.
Our voices are our weapons.
Our stories are our ammunition.
And our collective action is our power.
Healthcare cuts will kill. And Congress needs to hear that loud and clear—not tomorrow. Not next week. RIGHT NOW.
If you've ever worried about how you'll afford your prescriptions, if you’ve skipped a doctor’s visit because of the cost, if you’ve watched a loved one struggle without coverage—you have a story that deserves to be heard.
📣 Will you share it? We’re collecting stories to show lawmakers the human cost of their cruelty.

This fight is personal. It’s urgent. And it’s winnable—if we stand together.
We know what real security looks like. It’s affordable insulin, not another aircraft carrier. It’s mental health support, not military escalation. It’s a nation that cares for its people instead of punishing the poor.
Thank you to the brave souls of @popdemocracyaction, @debtcollective, @adapt, and every person who put their bodies on the line today. We see you. We fight with you. We won’t stop until everyone has the care they need to live and thrive.

🧡 Let’s rise, speak out, and keep pushing.

Good Trouble Lives On: A Day of Action
On July 17th, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing, People Power United is hosting a virtual event to honor his legacy and defend our rights and freedoms.
As Trump and his allies push voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act and criminalize protest, we’re rising up in nonviolent resistance—because in America, the power belongs to the people.
This isn’t just a virtual rally. It’s a moral stand. It’s Good Trouble—alive and marching forward.
