The goal of People Power United has always been to grow people power and show others who we are by our words and our actions. Our actions are a big part of our efforts!
I hope that this year, and every year, we lead by example.
The day we give up holding our leaders accountable, we forfeit freedom and embrace fascism. That day will not be today.
It will be our people power, determination, and love that will help us tackle racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, anti-semitism, homophobia, misogyny, sexism, sizeism, ageism, ableism, elitism, and bigotry.
We have added many new members recently, and I wanted to remind folks of our extraordinary actions in the past year (see below). Please continue to join us to push local, state, and federal leaders to stand strong and protect our rights and freedoms. We will only succeed if we mobilize and speak up.

We joined the Coalition to End Fossil Fuels and marched with thousands in New York.
We joined with coalition partners at the Supreme Court to deliver over 400,000 signatures demanding the Senate Senate investigate Clarence Thomas' and Samuel Alito's misconduct and vote on a code of ethics as soon as possible.
We joined a press conference with members of Congress to advocate for Medicare for All.
We joined other groups in the halls of Congress to advocate for no cuts to Medicare and environmental funding, and to push back against default on America's debt.
Laurie did an act of civil disobedience with a sit-in at the Capitol rotunda advocating for passing a clean debt ceiling.
We joined others to protest a compromised Supreme Court on their first day in 2023.
We joined a press conference with members of Congress to advocate for the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
For kicks and giggles, here's a friendly reminder: We organized the largest protest in Florida when Roe v Wade was overturned in 2022, with over 3000 coming out on a hot summer day.
2023 by the numbers
Hundreds of thousands of letters and petitions were signed to push for progress, here are few examples:
74,000 people sent a letter to Speaker McCarthy's staff to tell Kevin McCarthy to stop holding America hostage with the debt ceiling fight
52,000 people sent a letter to their members of Congress to ask them to Expand the Supreme Court, create term limits, and institute a code of ethics to protect our voting and civil rights.
We published almost 300 posts
1.7 million people read our content
2.7 million people viewed our site
People Power United hosted 30 events
We wrote and published letters to the editor
Over 1000 volunteers wrote postcards and letters to voters
