It’s ok if I make mistakes.
I want to shout out to everyone who sends me a message about grammar issues or spelling errors or an error. I am really grateful for you having my back. Someone said “you need to let your staff know” - but as a people power group, we have no staff. No budget for fancy copywriters. It’s just me- a mom and community member, in between life, trying to get the word out to all of you amazing People Power United members. And to clarify the former president did not toss toilet paper-it was a roll of paper towels. And the former president can not be considered an officer-because under our system of government we are under civilian rule not military rule, and that is why he can not be considered an officer. Stay tuned with us on 14.3, there will be appeals, and we will make sure to share when they are issued and on what grounds. Again I offer you my gratitude for helping make People Power United better!
It's not pie.
Every time I send out an email/post someone messages me and says "Why don't you advocate on this issue? If I mention Palestine, people ask about Israel and if I mention Israel, people ask about Palestine. If I mention the environment, people ask about healthcare, and so on-you get the idea.
My first response is to point you to our website/blog and recommend you review all the work we have done. Chances are if you do a quick search on the issue you care about, you will find our People Power movement/efforts there.
Secondly, and most importantly, we must push back against tribalism, it's dangerous, and partly responsible for a good portion of the world conflict we are seeing.
When we fight for rights and freedoms on an issue you don't advocate for, it does not mean fewer rights and freedoms for you. It's not pie.
We are stronger when we are united and advocating for one another. We can not overcome the division, the hatred, the bigotry, if we do not unite as a collective force for good. I understand we may not agree on all issues, but there are many issues we can agree on, and on those, we welcome your help and support.
Community is where we come together
Just a friendly reminder to join us in our People Power town square to engage. Our People Power members come together on Notes, our social media, and at our events. This is where we connect, chat, and find like minded people fighting for our rights and freedoms.

I believe in the power of the people. I have seen the love and determination of folks stepping up to write letters and postcards to voters, signing petitions and letter campaigns, making calls, sending texts, hitting doors, and dropping literature. There is no power like that of the people, and People Power United stands ready to protect our communities against any and all injustices. -Laurie

In my opinion if you are making messages you are doing something, better than no action and no mistakes. You are not alone.
An 'officer' in government is any office holder. Despite the recent ruling that Trump was not an officer the president holds both the office of preident and commander-in-chief of the military. The ruling was based on semantic gymnastics that are unlikely to hold up on appeal.
