Late night update - Why the Public should be allowed to view and listen to the Trial of the Former President
🗽There is no greater power than a community discovering the truth and working together to make sure an injustice is not repeated
Hey there! I hate sending two emails in one day, but wanted to update you on this earlier email I sent. Lawrence Tribe who is an legal scholar legend on democracy, voting rights, and the constitution has chimed in with an opinion piece in the LA Times and makes the case:
The rule of law depends upon public trust in its processes. Nothing promotes trust of facts better than what we see with our own eyes.
To ensure public trust and faith in the judicial system, the public must be allowed to view and listen to the upcoming trial(s) of the former president who has been indicted and arraigned for 78 criminal charges which include: taking the peoples documents, obstruction, violating the espionage act, and conspiracy to rob American’s of their vote and overthrow democracy.
We agree with Representative Schiff’s statement:
Esteemed lawyer Neal Katyal wrote in an opinion piece for the Washington Post:
Most important, live (or near-live) broadcasting lets Americans see for themselves what is happening in the courtroom and would go a long way toward reassuring them that justice is being done. They would be less vulnerable to the distortions and misrepresentations that will inevitably be part of the highly charged, politicized discussion flooding the country as the trial plays out.
The reputation and integrity of the United States Court system is under dispute. The great work of judges, lawyers, and all who assist our legal system on a daily basis deserve our thanks and respect. However, there is a deep mistrust happening in America, and all of us must speak out and demand transparency and accountability of our judicial system.
Additionally the protection of state secrets as well as hiding the identities of the jurors must be a priority as the case(s) are televised (sidebars, muting audio, pointing the camera away from jurors, etc. are all ways to protect them.) Former president Donald Trump and his supporters will not be allowed to manipulate the media, narrative, or facts coming from inside a courtroom. Facts are facts.
Former president Donald Trump deserves a fair and speedy trial and we must presume him innocent until proven guilty. The public who fund (by way of taxes) and operate the legal system (by way of elections and jury participation), should be allowed to view and listen to the trial.
We are sending a letter directly to the court(s) and Congress to advocate for transparency and accountability, can you take 1 (one) minute and send a message?
Please share our Twitter post and/or share our Facebook post.
Thanks for taking action for transparency and accountability!

Why not just record it and play it back after the verdict is made? Or maybe with a one or two day delay? Or put it on YouTube? There will be time enough for civil war after the trial.
I was in the USNavy FBM Submarines as a FTCS(SS) for 21 years msking 19 patrols on 4 different subs. The Houston, Jackson, Grant, and Kamehameha. From polaris to posedion to trident backfit. Had a TS(siop) clearance and was promised if violated I would have a 7 man firing squad at sunset! The same Treator Trump should have a;ready had! After retiring from the navy I was haired by a civilian group running the SURTASS Boats. After minimum training our group was sent to the USNS Bold in Charleston ShipYard. They already had a 3 man team from the home office trying to find a problem for 3 weeks, and would not allow us in the control center. After 3 more weeks we were allowed to look around the control center. I walked in and went to the first computer and open the front door and noticed the large sparks from the upper left side. Imask the home office team if that was normal? 3 of them almost killed lthemself to get to the computer and I left for lunch. I had lunch and was walking to my state room and passed out falling to the deck. We did not have a doctor, but I was told that I had Graves Disease. 2 days later we left for Norfolk. Eventitully I was treated where my Thyroid was killed, changing my life.
