Letter - People Power United joined coalition efforts to send a letter to all Members of Congress to Tax Greedy Billionaires
🗽A well informed citizenry is the best defense against tyranny.
People Power United joined coalition efforts to send a letter to all members of Congress to Tax Greedy Billionaires. Shout out to People's Action, MoveOn, ATF, and Tax the Greedy Billionaires for leading this effort. Here is the letter sent on behalf of our membership:
TO: Members of Congress
RE: Tax The Billionaires Now
America is in crisis as Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, undertakes a hostile takeover of our government. In fact, just 800 billionaires control over $6.22 trillion—more wealth than the bottom half of all American households combined. This concentration of wealth and power is threatening the health and safety of everyday people, unleashing a constitutional crisis, and wreaking havoc across our society.
Billionaires are flooding our political system with money to gut consumer protections. They're profiting from fossil fuels as extreme weather devastates our communities. Their investment firms are gobbling up family homes, jacking up rent and putting homeownership out of reach for working Americans. Their private equity takeovers of healthcare facilities are extracting profits and taking more of our money while denying us care.
Your constituents are sending you a clear message: Congress must confront this dangerous concentration of wealth head-on. Don't slash programs that working families depend on—tax the greedy billionaires now.
The American Dream is dying in a system where unlimited wealth for the few destroys opportunity for all.
