The people refuse to stand by while billionaires strip away our rights, freedoms, democracy, and the rule of law—while lining their pockets at our expense and denying us what we rightfully deserve. That’s why today, we’re in Washington, D.C.—marching, speaking out, showing up, and building power!
Donald Trump’s presidency has been nothing short of an economic disaster for everyday Americans. While he campaigned on the promise of lowering inflation and making life more affordable, the reality under his administration has been rising prices, economic chaos, and policies that benefit the wealthy at the expense of working people. Instead of focusing on real solutions, Trump has chosen to deflect responsibility, create distractions, and enact policies that make life even harder for American families. From the start, Trump promised to lower grocery prices but failed miserably. But today, the cost of necessities like eggs, milk, and fresh produce is climbing higher than ever. His reckless tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China are nothing more than new consumer taxes, raising the price of everyday goods such as fruit, toys, sneakers, and prescription drugs. Rather than helping Americans keep more money in their pockets, Trump is pushing policies that make essentials more expensive.
Even worse, Trump has no real plan to combat rising costs. While inflation continues to burden working families, he is busy handing taxpayer dollars to billionaires like Elon Musk, who has no interest in lowering costs for the public. Instead of directing resources toward programs that could reduce prices—like increasing domestic food production or regulating price gouging—Trump’s administration prioritizes corporate giveaways and economic instability. Americans aren’t seeing relief; there is just more chaos.
Trump’s first weeks back in office have made it abundantly clear where his priorities lie—helping billionaires, not struggling families. He is freezing federal programs, gutting essential services, and favoring policies that empower his wealthy friends while working people suffer. While inflation continues to rise, Trump is refusing to take meaningful action, proving that he never cared about fighting for everyday Americans in the first place. Billionaires may not struggle to afford groceries, but millions of Americans do, and Trump’s policies worsen our struggles.
His administration’s distraction tactics are a classic Trump move—focusing on trade wars, blaming other countries, and pushing executive orders that create more problems than they solve. Instead of fulfilling his promises to lower costs, Trump’s decisions drive prices up, and his supporters are left to pay the bill. For example, his trade war with China will make prescription drugs like antibiotics and blood pressure medication even more expensive and harder to find, hurting millions of people who depend on them for their health.
Adding to this economic turmoil, the House has just passed a dangerous partisan Republican funding bill that is now facing a vote in the Senate—a bill that represents a devastating betrayal of American veterans, seniors, and families. This bill slashes funding for essential programs like food assistance, healthcare, and housing aid, cutting nearly $23 billion in veterans’ benefits while doing nothing to stop Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s dismantling of critical services. Instead, it worsens things with deeper cuts that will hurt veterans, seniors, and families. This bill would make it even harder for working families to afford basic necessities, pushing more people into economic hardship. It cuts $23 billion from care for veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances, slashes critical health care programs, and guts funding for affordable housing—potentially forcing more than 32,000 veterans, domestic violence survivors, seniors, and people with disabilities out of their homes. Instead of investing in programs that support the middle and lower class, Trump and his allies are gutting these services in favor of policies that benefit billionaires and large corporations. This is not fiscal responsibility—it is economic sabotage.
The American people need to see through Trump’s attempts to shift the narrative and recognize the harm his administration is causing. The truth is, his chaotic approach to governing is only making things worse. His tariffs, funding freezes, and reckless policies are not solutions—they’re just distractions from his broken promises. While Trump creates economic instability, regular people are forced to bear the burden of rising prices and financial stress.
We must continue to hold Trump accountable. His distractions won’t fool us, and we won’t let him get away with pretending to fight for the American people while his policies make life more unaffordable. Inflation isn’t just about economic trends—it’s about people struggling to feed their families and afford necessities. The American people deserve better than this. Trump’s administration only adds to our pain, and we must push back which is why we are in DC today championing progress and power to the people!

Call your Senators at (202) 224-3121 and tell them to reject any budget that puts billionaires over seniors, veterans, marginalized folks, and families.
Trump’s proposed budget includes a $880 BILLION cut to Medicaid—a lifeline for 80 million people. These proposed cuts will strip healthcare from:
40% of U.S. kids.
60% of nursing home residents.
Millions of working families, seniors, and disabled folks.
