Love never gives up.
In our collective grief for the senseless slaughter of our brothers and sisters in Maine, Israel, Palestine, Ukraine, and all around the world, let us recommit to never give up.
In our collective grief for the senseless slaughter of our brothers and sisters in Maine, Israel, Palestine, Ukraine, and all around the world, let us recommit to never give up.
Love never gives up.
Go deep into what you love (family, friends, community) and let’s use that to power us through this difficult time. Call a friend, spend time with a loved one, stop by your house of worship, take time for you!
It will be our people power, determination, and love that will help us tackle racism, xenophobia, islamophobia, antisemitism, homophobia, misogyny, ageism, ableism, elitism, sizeism, and bigotry.
Before I tackle the news and what we can do to push for progress, I wanted to share a great headline you might have missed: UAW national negotiators reached a tentative agreement with Ford. Unions are people power fighting for workers rights and we all benefit from a strong and healthy labor force.
Far-right extremists have taken control of the Republican party and now hold the majority in the House of Representatives.
Following several weeks of internal conflicts that resulted in a paralyzed Congress, House Republicans have elected Mike Johnson, a staunch supporter of the MAGA movement, as the new Speaker of the House, in accordance with the instructions of former President Trump.
In his inaugural address, Mike Johnson proposed the establishment of a Debt Commission. This commission would have the power to potentially jeopardize the funding of vital programs such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, and other essential initiatives.
Johnson is anti-people power. Check out this tweet, uplifting his belief that a Christian minority needs to rule the majority. As champions for progress, we must collectively push back to harms inflicted on our community.
Can you take 1 (one) minute and send a message to your member of Congress and tell them: No Backdoor Cuts to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and SNAP via a Debt Commission

I believe in the power of the people. I have seen the love and determination of folks stepping up to write letters and postcards to voters, signing petitions and letter campaigns, making calls, sending texts, hitting doors, and dropping literature. There is no power like that of the people, and People Power United stands ready to protect our communities against any and all injustices. - Laurie Woodward Garcia, People Power United
