📢 Melania: A Betrayer to This Nation
Melania Trump has betrayed women, mothers, immigrants, the disabled, and ultimately, the nation she was meant to serve.

Throughout history, First Ladies have used their platforms to champion causes that uplift society:
Rosalynn Carter: Mental health advocacy
Nancy Reagan: "Just Say No" campaign against drug use
Barbara Bush: Childhood literacy
Hillary Clinton: Healthcare reform
Laura Bush: Childhood literacy
Michelle Obama: "Let's Move!" to reduce childhood obesity and "Let Girls Learn" to increase education for girls
Jill Biden: "Joining Forces" to support military families
Then there’s Melania Trump with her "Be Best" campaign, aimed at cyberbullying awareness—a cause that would have been admirable had she not been complicit in the exact opposite behavior.
As the President’s wife, Melania had a unique opportunity to advocate for women, immigrants, mothers, and the disabled. But instead of empathy, she chose silence and vanity. She stood by as her husband took pride in overturning Roe v. Wade, stripping women of their right to make decisions about their own bodies. As thousands of women were forced to carry pregnancies after being raped, where was Melania? When doctors hesitated to provide life-saving care for fear of prosecution, leading to women like Amber Thurman dying in hospital parking lots, where was she? She had nothing to say until now.
In her forthcoming book, Melania suddenly claims, “It is imperative to guarantee that women have autonomy in deciding their preference of having children, based on their own convictions, free from any intervention or pressure from the government.” Make no mistake—this is nothing more than a ploy to sell books and deflect anger toward Trump in the lead-up to the election. If Melania truly cared about a woman’s right to choose, she would have spoken up long ago. This latest move is merely a calculated distraction to help one person: Former President and Convicted Felon Donald Trump.
Melania, an immigrant herself, remained silent as children were ripped from their families at the border, including infants and children with disabilities. When immigrants were vilified and labeled as threats to America, she made no statement—choosing instead to flaunt her infamous jacket that read, “I really don’t care, do u?” Now, reports suggest she’s trying to twist the meaning of that jacket in her book, claiming she was somehow helping families at the border. How sick and perverse does one have to be to use a fashion statement while doing and saying nothing about family separation?
One would expect Melania to be more compassionate toward people with disabilities, given the speculations Melania Trump has faced regarding her son. Baron. As Darren Sush, Psy.D., BCBA-D, rightly pointed out, “Pointing out a few, short video clips of Mr. Trump’s son and saying that his behavior looks like someone who has autism is not only haphazard but also irresponsible and disrespectful to the autism community.” Despite this, she remained silent as Trump openly mocked the disabled and tried to dismantle healthcare protections under the Affordable Care Act. She stood by as Medicare and Medicaid—lifelines for millions of vulnerable Americans—were put at risk.
As a self-proclaimed woman of faith, Melania could have championed compassion. Her faith teaches care for "the least of these," yet she has shown little care for women, children, or the oppressed. She had countless opportunities to speak up, to challenge cruelty, and to show kindness—but she chose not to.
When Trump perpetuated the "Big Lie" about the 2020 election and lost over 50 court cases, even after his own staff confirmed his defeat, Melania could have urged him to respect democracy and accept a peaceful transfer of power. Instead, she fled Washington, refusing to welcome the Bidens—a break from tradition that dishonored the title of “First Lady.”
On January 6th, as Capitol Police officers were attacked and Vice President Pence’s life was in danger, Melania did nothing. Her silence was just a complete failure in her position.
Melania Trump will not be remembered as a First Lady who embodied grace or service. Instead, she will be remembered as someone who, when given the chance to lead with compassion and courage, chose selfishness and complicity. She betrayed women, mothers, immigrants, the disabled, and ultimately, the nation she was meant to serve. Melania is a traitor to America and to humanity. Although she was given the title "First Lady," she never earned it through her words or actions. Instead, she betrayed that title—and in doing so, she betrayed this country.

What a powerful and truthful article! As a minor addition, we can add her Rose Garden fiasco, her insulting Christmas trees, and her comments about Christmas (not my holiday but not respectful on her part). Melania Trump is a stain on the history of this country's past First Ladies. trump should never be allowed to enter the White House again, and we don't need his disgrace of a First Lady to join him.
The “I don’t care” jacket spoke volumes at the time in telling us who she wanted us to see- a spoiled rich woman with her head in the clouds with no knowledge or concern for conditions on the ground. She is married to Trump so we can’t know her personal hell from narcissistic abuse even as we can see her values and lack thereof. I am an avid news reader and watcher and I’ve never heard her speak or seen her write anything on an issue in all these years. I always thought that was weird for a First Lady even if she is an immigrant married to someone who hates other immigrants and who is bent on destroying the government rather than aiding the nation’s population. She chose to stay in line, whatever that marital mandate was. Seems like she filled the role Trump gave her pretty well- quiet eye candy for his ego. And another contradiction for the ages to unravel.
