"Women belong in all places where decisions are being made." – Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Hi there! I know I am preaching to the choir, but I want to share that since Vice-President Kamala Harris announced her candidacy, I have noticed (and I suspect you have too) a rise in Misogyny. Misogyny is the dislike, contempt for, or prejudice against women, often manifesting through behaviors, attitudes, and beliefs that devalue or discriminate against them. It reinforces gender inequality by perpetuating stereotypes and justifying the marginalization of women in various aspects of society. I am getting messages and seeing posts online referring to Vice-President Kamala Harris as … I won't repeat these terms-they are vile.
Offensive imagery and hateful remarks targeting Kamala Harris and other female candidates are bombarding the American people.
Misogyny poses significant dangers to our communities, perpetuating gender inequality, discrimination, and violence against women.
It manifests in various forms, from overt acts like harassment and assault to subtler, insidious behaviors like undermining women's abilities or denying them opportunities. In its most extreme forms, it fuels gender-based violence. It fosters a culture where the devaluation of women becomes normalized, endangering the safety and well-being of half the population. By allowing Misogyny to persist, society perpetuates cycles of abuse, inequality, and oppression, hindering progress toward a just and equitable world.
We must stand up and speak out whenever we encounter these attacks on anyone in our community. Here are a few simple steps we can take:
Educate and Raise Awareness: Promote gender equality education in schools and communities to challenge stereotypes and dismantle harmful beliefs about women. We must push back against anti-DEI efforts. Any attempt to remove diversity, equity, and inclusion from our communities directly attacks progress and equality. Such efforts undermine the fight against discrimination and allow harmful biases to persist, preventing us from creating spaces where everyone is valued and treated fairly. By defending and promoting DEI initiatives, we ensure that future generations grow up in a world that respects and empowers all individuals, regardless of gender.
Challenge Sexist Behavior: Speak out against sexist comments, jokes, and actions in everyday situations to create a culture of respect.
Support Women's Rights: Advocate for policies that protect and promote women's rights, such as equal pay, reproductive rights, and protection from gender-based violence.
Promote Gender Equality in Leadership: Encourage and support women in leadership roles in politics, business, and other fields to ensure diverse and inclusive decision-making. The fact that no woman has held the office of President in over 248 years is shameful. And looking at the stats around the country, it doesn't get much better:
Mayors - 26.8 percent are women.
Municipal - 32.3 percent are women.
State Houses - 32.8 percent are women.
Congress - 28% are women.
Supreme Court - don't get me started.
Teach Empathy and Respect: Foster a culture of empathy by teaching the importance of respecting all individuals, regardless of gender, from a young age.
Our communities will be stronger when we eliminate Misogyny because it will allow everyone to contribute their talents and perspectives equally, fostering a more inclusive, just, and innovative society. By promoting gender equality, we create an environment where respect and opportunity thrive, benefiting all members of the community.

protect title IX. if people born with penises want to do, look, feel like people born with vaginas, don't discriminate against them. Don't make such a big deal about it. The channeling, shaming, rewarding girls for mothering and boys for warrioring should abate. Oppose war and boys won't have to change gender identities
