America, our communities are under direct attack. Billionaires like Elon Musk are gaining control over critical federal systems. Convicted 34-time felon President Donald Trump is surrounding himself with extremists determined to dismantle everything America stands for—turning our government into a theocratic autocracy designed to strip away our rights and freedoms. And while this happens, MAGA Republicans in Congress are not just standing by—they're helping. Republicans don't want to represent us; they want to rule over us.
We are not powerless. In fact, we hold the power they fear most—the power of collective action. We are rising up and pushing back.
No one can impose their racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, homophobia, misogyny, sexism, ageism, ableism, sizeism, transphobia, misogynoir, elitism, and bigotry on us.
America works best when it works for all of us—no matter who we are or where we come from. But MAGA Republicans & their billionaire backers want to turn back the clock to a time when wealthy white men held all the power and hoarded all the opportunities. They spread lies to cover up the progress we've made, hoping to divide us and tighten their grip on power. We're not falling for it. We demand a government that reflects all of us, represents every one of us, and serves no one's interests but the people's. No exceptions.
We will not be silenced. We will not be sidelined.
This is our moment to stand up, push back, and fight for the country we believe in.

Organize to Build Power Through Committees
Power is building relationships and the ability to move people to action or inaction.
Our mission in fighting for progress and people power is to inspire and unite everyone who calls America home. We’re working to create an America where everyone has the chance to thrive, and our leaders should reflect that vision. If they don’t, we’ll organize, mobilize, and do the work to replace them.
In civic engagement, true power comes from organized communities capable of influencing decisions, policies, and societal norms. While social media has transformed how we communicate, merely liking or sharing posts does not build lasting power. Power grows through direct relationships rooted in personal connections and meaningful actions that lead to sustained engagement.
Power to the People Starts with the Committees That Control Our Lives
Did you know that key committees in Congress (and state houses) hold tremendous power over the lives of everyday Americans? These committees decide which bills move forward and which get buried. They shape the laws that impact our healthcare, wages, housing, environment, and so much more.
Here’s the truth:
We can stop harmful bills that threaten our communities and champion legislation that helps millions—but only if we do our homework. Understanding which committees control specific bills gives us the power to focus our advocacy where it matters most.
Friendly reminder:
When a member of Congress serves on a committee or is in leadership, they represent the entire country—not just their state. That’s why it’s important to contact them and their staff to voice your support or opposition to bills and issues that matter to you.
That’s where YOU come in.
We’re urging every People Power United member to commit to action:
📞 Call committee members and their staff.
✉️ Email, fax, and write letters to push for progress.
📢 Pester them until they know we’re watching—and we’re not backing down.
When is this needed?
Year-round. Not just when a crisis hits. Not just when a bill is on the floor. Committees work behind the scenes every day—and that’s when we can have the biggest impact.
