🗽Postcard and Letter Writing to Voters
Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen. - Michael Jordan
People Power United folks rock! To date, they have written over half a million letters and postcards! We are making change happen! FYI, our letter and postcard writing is happening year-round.
Here are some ways to plug into this fantastic and powerful way to engage community members on issues and voting.
Postcards to Voters
Postcards and Letter Writing To Voters is a group of volunteers who write postcards (and letters) to targeted voters in the hope of increasing turnout in close, key elections across the country. We do this in our homes, with friends, and in our communities. We also meet virtually once a month to discuss new campaigns and instructions and chat about politics.
Where to get supplies
Where to get Postcards: People Power United is now offering postcards, check them out in our Etsy store. Here is what past cards looked like.
People Power United now offers postcards! Check out our newest design(s) here. Your purchase helps our People Power efforts. You are also welcome to use plain cardstock or order cards from Etsy or your local vendor; the designs are entirely up to you.
Where to get addresses and scripts for what to write: We’re starting early work on several 2026 Senate races. Scripts are already available (without candidate names), and we’re beginning to stockpile postcards now. We’re laying the groundwork now—writing the postcards early—then we’ll return to add the candidate’s name and voter addresses once they’re available in the second quarter of 2026.
Click here to request scripts for what to write. Addresses will be distributed in the second quarter of 2026. Please note if a race pops up before then, we will alert our writers.
Join us for our Monthly Meetup: Postcards and Letter Writing to Voters. No materials are required. We will go over instructions, discuss the current projects we are involved in, and engage in meaningful conversations about important topics. You can choose between the Partisan or Non-Partisan letter campaigns.
You can write letters to voters by visiting our Swing Left partner, Vote Forward: https://votefwd.org/peoplepowerunited . Supplies needed: blank paper, envelopes, Forever stamps, and a printer. Steps needed: sign up and get approved, choose the state you are helping, choose the number of letters—5 or 20—download and print letters, address letters and envelopes, and mail.
Letters: You can create your account now, but we’re currently waiting for new campaigns to be released by Vote Forward.

Tips for writing postcards or letters:
Please write legibly and avoid using cursive script.
Do not sign your last name.
Friendly reminder: even though your labels may have a name, do not use the names on the labels. Use instead “Our Friends at,” “Our Neighbors at,” “Essential Voters,” “VIP Voters,” etc. That way , if there is a move by the family, your postcards or letters will still be delivered.
Feel free to make your postcards colorful!
When you purchase stamps for postcards, make sure to get the postcard stamps, which are cheaper than the standard ones. For letters, we recommend the forever stamps.
Please include the Spanish and Creole lines, as this outreach includes Hispanic and Creole-speaking voters (if your instructions include it).
Shred addresses. Do not reuse or share.
Could you send us photos? We love seeing your impact on our community. Please email your pictures to your organizer. Thanks so much for your activism!
Does postcards and letter writing work?
“the study quantifiably found the letters boosted targeted voters’ turnout by 0.8 percentage points.”

Which postcard stamps are less expensive? I bought regular postcard stamps for an earlier program and they were very expensive
Hi Laurie,
My friend and I both missed the postcards for FL -01. Can we get lists of people to write for the next big race coming up?
Thanks
