Health care is a human right—not a privilege reserved for the wealthy. Yet in the United States, one of the most advanced and wealthiest nations in the world, tens of thousands of people die each year simply because they cannot afford medical care. Millions more skip necessary treatments or ration prescriptions because of sky-high costs. It's a national disgrace—and it doesn't have to be this way.
Across the world, countries like Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany guarantee health care to all their citizens while spending far less per person than we do. They enjoy longer life expectancies, lower infant and maternal mortality rates, and none of the devastating medical bankruptcies that plague American families. Meanwhile, the United States spends nearly $13,000 per person on health care—more than any other country—yet fails to guarantee coverage to everyone.
The solution is straightforward: Medicare for All.
This bold legislation will ensure universal health coverage for everyone in the United States. It will cover primary care, vision, dental, hearing, prescription drugs, mental health services, reproductive care, and more. Patients can choose any doctor or hospital they prefer, without worrying about restrictive insurance networks.
Medicare for All is not just morally right—it’s economically smart. The Congressional Budget Office estimates it will save $650 billion every year by cutting out the waste and profiteering of private insurance companies. Researchers at Yale found that it could save 68,000 lives annually by ensuring timely access to care.
This is about power to the people. It's about standing up to corporate greed and putting our families and our futures first. People Power United calls on every member of our movement to take action today:
