In response to the bogus impeachment attempt announced by Speaker Kevin McCarthy today, People Power United - a progressive grassroots group - issued the following statement:
“Once again, MAGA Republicans in Congress and their leader Speaker Kevin McCarthy have failed to help the American people by leading this nation on issues that Americans care about: jobs, economy, inflation, healthcare, immigration, security, environment, education, housing, and voting and civil rights. A bogus attempt to impeach President Joe Biden further highlights this is nothing more than a coverup of Donald Trump’s crimes and their incompetence as leaders.
People Power United will continue to push back against injustices and hold our leaders accountable to the people they serve. There is no power like that of the people, and People Power United stands ready to protect our communities against any and all injustices,” said Laurie Woodward García of People Power United.
