Stop Illegal Deportations. Free Kilmar Ábrego García.
🗽A well informed citizenry is the best defense against tyranny. Throughout history, Americans have faced corruption, injustice, and authoritarian overreach. And every time, we fought back.

America was founded on the promise of justice, fairness, and the idea that no one is above the law. Yet today, that promise is under direct attack. The case of Kilmar Ábrego García—a man wrongfully deported in defiance of a federal court order—shows us just how fragile our rights have become, and how far an authoritarian administration ran by 34-time convicted felon President but not a leader Donald Trump and his complicit minions known as the Republican Party will go to undermine the rule of law.
In March 2025, the Trump administration illegally deported Ábrego García to El Salvador, ignoring a 2019 court order that barred his removal due to the threat of gang violence (The Washington Post, 2025). The government later admitted it was an "administrative error," but that admission did nothing to undo the suffering inflicted. Once in El Salvador, Ábrego García was locked inside the country's notorious mega-prison, a facility widely condemned for its brutal and inhumane conditions (ABC News, 2025).
After intense legal and public pressure, Ábrego García was returned to the United States in June. But instead of being freed, he has been re-arrested during a routine ICE check-in in Baltimore and now faces the threat of deportation again—this time not even to his native El Salvador, but to Uganda, a country with which he has no ties. His attorneys argue these new proceedings amount to retaliation for his decision to fight his wrongful removal (Washington Post, 2025).
The injustice is so blatant that U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis issued a temporary restraining order blocking his deportation and set an October 6 hearing to determine whether the administration is violating federal law (Politico, 2025). Even mainstream outlets have called this a "dramatic escalation of Trump-era immigration practices" (Washington Post, 2025).
This is not just about one man. It is about whether the United States will honor our laws and values. If the government can ignore a court order and exile someone to a country they've never called home, then none of our rights are safe. As Judge Xinis's intervention shows, the judiciary is trying to hold the line—but it will take a chorus of public voices-our voices and congressional action to stop this abuse of power.
