In response to recent Supreme Court shenanigans, People Power United - a progressive grassroots group - issued the following statement:
“The Supreme Court has become unhinged. There is no power like that of the people, and People Power United stands ready to protect our communities against any and all injustices,” said Laurie Woodward García of People Power United.
People Power United will continue to oppose such harm to our community and champion civil rights for all.

Election
Politico: Why the Supreme Court Might Cast the Final Vote for President
Law Professor Aziz Huq argues that there are three paths available to the Supreme Court if the justices want to shape the outcomes of the 2024 election. He outlines the three paths, which include: objections to a state’s Electoral College certification, if a state fails to submit its slate of electors to Congress in time, and challenges to a state court’s ruling on state election law.
Richard Glossip
John Fritze and Devan Cole report on oral arguments in Richard Glossip’s case, which the Supreme Court heard on Wednesday. They note that “some justices signaling a willingness to let state courts further review allegations that prosecutors withheld evidence in the case” and that the outcome may rest with the Chief Justice and Justice Barrett.

Oklahoma took an unusual turn when Justices Alito and Thomas, “who typically take the most hardline positions against criminal defendants,” seemed likely to toss the case out altogether. He outlines some of the evidence in the case and notes that Justices Kavanaugh and Barrett are the wild cards in this case.

Sarah Lipton-Lubet argues that anti-abortion advocates have returned to victim narratives to push their policies and ideologies before the Supreme Court. She says “anti-abortion extremists, the Republican justices included, will not be satisfied until they have control over every aspect of reproductive decisionmaking nationwide without women having the temerity to question their superior judgment.”
HuffPost: Conservative Lawmakers Repeatedly Cite The Bible In Supreme Court Filing
Sarah Boboltz reports that “a group of religious conservatives listed nearly a dozen Bible passages in an amicus brief filed with the Supreme Court Wednesday regarding a case about gender-affirming health care bans.”
