We need to choose leaders who are accountable to the people, uphold the rule of law, respect individual rights, prioritize freedom over authoritarianism, and work to strengthen democracy rather than undermine it.

Once elected, it’s crucial to keep pushing for progress! We can’t let up now. Our rights, freedoms, democracy, and the rule of law are under threat from unstable branches of government and wealthy individuals and organizations seeking greater power.

‘Pure Fascism’: Authoritarianism Expert Breaks Down Trump’s Madison Square Garden Rally

  • Authoritarianism expert Ruth Ben-Ghiat delivered a damning critique of former President Donald Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday. The history professor at New York University, who has warned extensively of the dictatorial threats posed by the Republican presidential nominee, used X (formerly Twitter) to comment on multiple controversial moments at the event.

My father and grandfather both served as Naval officers during World War II and emulated a steadfast allegiance to their country and its institutions.

Many in the crowd wore red MAGA baseball caps, while some sported bright-orange beanies signaling their membership in the Proud Boys, a far-right extremist group. A few were dressed more fantastically. Who are these characters in camouflage and antlers?
