📢Trump Needs to Stop Another Catastrophic War in Iran

Friends, we’ve seen this movie before. A president, desperate for a win, stokes fear and uses war machinery to distract from his failures at home. It happened in Iraq. It happened in Afghanistan. And if we don’t speak out now, it could happen again—this time in Iran.
Donald Trump’s reckless flirtation with war is not about diplomacy. It’s about ego, image, and power. The Israeli government, under Benjamin Netanyahu, has launched a full-scale bombing campaign against Iran—a campaign designed to sabotage nuclear negotiations and bait the United States into another unwinnable Middle East war. Friendly reminder, America has given over $250 billion in military aid to Israel. I’m all for protecting our nation and standing with allies, but this is out of control.
Instead of holding the line and pushing for peace, Trump has embraced this madness. And if he gets his way, our sons and daughters will pay the price—once again.
We cannot let that happen. Not now. Not ever again.
A War We Didn’t Start—a War We Don’t Need.
Israel has every right to consider Iran's achievement of nuclear weapons capabilities an existential threat to their very existence; however, the Israeli strikes are not about protecting peace—they're about regime change. Netanyahu has made that clear. His target list goes far beyond nuclear sites. Israeli airstrikes have hit oil refineries, civilian neighborhoods, and natural gas plants—vital infrastructure that has nothing to do with uranium enrichment and everything to do with paralyzing the Iranian economy and collapsing its government. On June 16, Israel issued an evacuation order for central Tehran, home to over 14 million people. This isn’t precision warfare—it’s collective punishment.
Now, Trump is talking about joining them.
Trump’s reportedly planning a direct strike on Fordo, a nuclear facility hardened into the side of a mountain—an act that will accomplish little but provoke full-scale retaliation (AP News, 2025). U.S. military experts agree that bombing cannot eliminate Iran’s nuclear capabilities. It only increases the risk that Iran will pursue nuclear weapons to defend itself.
This isn’t about peace. It’s about provocation. It’s about control.
And it will cost us dearly.
Trump’s Delusion, Our Consequences
Let’s be clear: Iran was ready to negotiate. According to U.S. analysts who visited Tehran three weeks ago, the Iranian foreign ministry and nuclear team were actively exploring options for a deal. They proposed low-level uranium enrichment capped at 3.67%, with international oversight. They even offered to ship enriched uranium to Russia and allow U.S. inspectors on the ground. They were bending over backward to meet us at the table. (Arms Control Association, 2025).
But Trump’s team, intoxicated by power and entranced by Netanyahu’s war drums, demanded zero enrichment—a poison pill Iran could never accept (NY Times, 2025). And when Iran didn’t immediately surrender, Netanyahu bombed. Trump, instead of condemning the escalation, endorsed it. He now threatens even more attacks, tweeting “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” like a king laying siege—not a president seeking peace (MSNBC, 2025).
Let’s not forget: this is the same Donald Trump who pulled us out of the original Iran deal in 2018, even though Iran was complying (Wikipedia, 2025). He broke a working agreement. He triggered this crisis. And now, he’s using it as cover to drag us into a war that Americans overwhelmingly oppose.
If change is coming to Iran, it must come from the Iranian people—not from foreign bombs, invasions, or outside interference. Their future is theirs to decide.
The American People Say No
Polling shows how out-of-step Trump is with the people he claims to represent. A recent survey found that only 16% of Americans support U.S. military involvement in this conflict. That includes 65% of Democrats, 61% of Independents—and even 53% of Republicans (YouGov, 2025).
We do not want another war in the Middle East. We want our leaders to focus on the crises we’re already facing—soaring housing costs, inflation, crumbling healthcare, student debt, and an authoritarian assault on our rights at home.
Trump says he’s putting America first. But war with Iran does the exact opposite.
It would spike oil prices. Wreck the global economy. Kill U.S. troops. Further destabilize the region. And worst of all—it would strengthen the very authoritarian regimes Trump claims to oppose. War would empower hardliners in Iran. It would give Netanyahu cover to crush dissent. And it would hand Trump the perfect excuse to escalate military deployments inside the U.S., cracking down on protests, ICE raids, and dissent under the guise of “wartime unity.”
This isn’t just about foreign policy. It’s about democracy itself.
Congress Must Reclaim Its Power
Trump does not have the constitutional authority to start a war unilaterally. Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution gives Congress—not the president—the sole power to declare war. Lawmakers across the political spectrum must act now to assert their authority, block unauthorized military action, and prevent another Iraq-style quagmire.
Some already have. But we need more. We need every member of Congress—Republican or Democrat—to speak out loud and clear: Not again. Not this time. Not in our name.
We Know How This Ends
We remember the lies that led to the Iraq War. We recognize the photos of “weapons of mass destruction” that didn’t exist. We remember the flag-draped coffins, the permanent injuries, the PTSD, the thousands of lives lost. We remember how war profiteers got rich while communities here struggled.
Now, they want us to forget.
We won’t.
We won’t let Trump gamble with our lives to rescue his poll numbers. We won’t let Netanyahu dictate U.S. foreign policy. And we won’t let history repeat itself.
This Is Our Call to Action
We must stop this war before it starts. That means:
🖊️ Signing the petition to stop Trump’s march to war and demand diplomacy, not destruction.
📞 Calling your senators and representatives. Demand they vote to block any unauthorized military action.
✍️ Writing letters to the editor, posting on social media, and talking to friends. Please spread the word: we don’t need another war.
🎙️ Showing up to rallies, town halls, and protests. Let them hear our voices.
It’s not too late. There is still a chance for peace. But only if we advocate for it.
Let’s put America first—not another reckless war.
Let this be our message to Washington, to Tel Aviv, and to every war-hungry pundit who thinks they can manipulate another generation into battle: We see through you. And we won’t let you do it again.
Thanks for taking action!
