Fascism Wins When We Ignore Project 2025

Fascism thrives in the shadows of apathy, creeping into societies not with dramatic proclamations or tanks in the streets, but through quiet indifference. It begins when good people choose inaction—failing to challenge injustice, ignoring the erosion of rights, and dismissing threats as “it can’t happen here.” Each moment of apathy creates fertile ground for authoritarianism, allowing it to take root and grow.

History has shown us this pattern repeatedly. In 1930s Europe, fascist regimes did not rise solely due to their loudest supporters; they gained power because the majority remained silent. Propaganda filled the airwaves, laws chipped away at freedoms, and neighbors were ostracized or worse—all while too many looked away, assuming someone else would act. They believed institutions, leaders, or the impossibility of such evil would stop its rise. But authoritarianism doesn’t need active participation; it thrives when good people do nothing.

The rise of fascism is insidious. It begins with seemingly minor acts: banning books, promoting “patriotic” education, or normalizing hate speech disguised as free expression. It escalates as those in power weaken judicial independence, dismantle checks and balances, and silences dissenting voices. Too often, the silent majority writes these off as isolated incidents rather than recognizing them as a coordinated effort to dismantle democracy. But doing nothing is a choice—a choice that strengthens oppressors and emboldens their supporters.

Today, the threat is clear in Trump’s Project 2025, a calculated power grab by extreme MAGA Republicans. Their agenda seeks to criminalize abortion, impose a national registry to monitor women’s pregnancies and miscarriages, and even imprison doctors and nurses providing essential care. They aim to gut the Affordable Care Act, leaving millions without protections for pre-existing conditions and driving up healthcare costs. Workers would lose overtime pay, middle-class families would face tax hikes, and wealthy corporations would enjoy new handouts. They plan to dismantle Social Security and Medicare, slashing benefits for seniors while empowering Big Pharma to charge exorbitant prices for life-saving medications.

The urgency of this moment cannot be overstated. Democracy is not self-sustaining—it requires people to fight for it. Speaking out against bigotry, advocating for marginalized communities, and holding leaders accountable are not optional; they are moral imperatives. The question is not whether good people can stop the rise of fascism, but whether they will act before it’s too late. Trump’s Project 2025, backed by MAGA Republicans, is a calculated assault on our families, communities, and the very foundations of our rights, freedoms, the rule of law, and democracy. Silence is complicity. It is time to stand together and act decisively to stop this dangerous agenda.

Build people power. See below.

Build local power. Join the People’s March and take the next step to turn momentum into lasting change! Let’s go beyond the march by organizing locally to hold leaders accountable, protect vulnerable communities, and ensure that everyone is treated with dignity, can live safely, and has the opportunity to thrive. A march is only the beginning—together, we can build a powerful, people-driven movement that creates real, lasting progress in our communities. Let’s make every step count!

Build leaders up. Hold your local, state, and federal leaders accountable to protect our rights, freedoms, the rule of law, and democracy. Take action by making calls, visiting their offices, sending messages, posting on social media and tagging them, and consistently urging them to speak up and show up for our communities. Your persistent pressure can make the difference!

Resist. Resistance and civil disobedience are powerful tools for challenging injustice and sparking change. When people collectively refuse to accept oppression and take a stand against unjust systems, they expose the cracks in those systems and inspire others to act. Civil disobedience, rooted in nonviolence and moral courage, has the power to disrupt the status quo, amplify marginalized voices, and push societies toward justice and equality. Throughout history, it has been the driving force behind transformative movements that have reshaped the world.

Stop. Stop supporting organizations and buying from companies that are encouraging Trump’s Project 2025 and MAGA’s harmful agenda. Here is a list of endorsers.

Rapid Response for Our Freedoms

Why do we need to build people power?

Building people power is essential because it places the strength of our communities in the hands of everyday individuals rather than distant institutions or wealthy elites. When we unite, organize, and take action together, we amplify our voices and create a force capable of driving real change.

People power fosters accountability, ensures that leaders represent the true will of the majority, and pushes for policies that prioritize fairness, justice, and opportunity for all. By reclaiming our collective power, we can challenge inequality, resist oppression, and build a future where everyone—regardless of race, gender, or income—has the chance to thrive.

When we come together in unity, we can face challenges and build a society that reflects our shared values of liberty, justice, and dignity for all.
