📢 United in Purpose, Defending Our Democracy
🗽You are the hero of our American story.
I’m not going to lie—I am exhausted. Yesterday was packed with our Take Action Tuesday event, sending out addresses and instructions for our Postcards to Voters campaign, updating our Substack on the Supreme Court, and preparing for our event tonight. Despite the exhaustion, I am driven by the energy and passion of our community. Each of you has shown up, contributed, and made your voices heard. This commitment is what keeps us moving forward, knowing that our collective efforts are making a tangible difference.
I am also nervous. I recall conversations with friends and family who never believed Donald Trump could become president or pose a threat to our community. Now, I see a similar possibility unfolding. Even if Trump does not win the presidency, many in our communities believe in his rhetoric and are willing to undermine our rights and freedoms. This is a critical moment, and our vigilance and action are more important than ever. We must be prepared to defend our democracy against those who would erode it.
Yet, I am inspired by you! Our People Power United folks understand that we all must step up to ensure everyone in our community has the opportunity to vote and thrive. The energy is exciting, and it's thrilling to see everyone inspired with hope. Our rights, freedoms, and democracy are like a garden that needs tending year-round. Despite the exhaustion, I am excited because I believe that together, united in purpose and determination, there is no problem we can’t tackle. Your dedication—whether through letters, postcards, text banking, petitions, and more—fuels our movement. I am grateful for your presence, your action, and the journey we are on together.
