They marched, they rolled, they stood tall.

Veterans in wheelchairs, parents with strollers, elders with walkers, service members from every generation—some just home, others long retired—all came to the Unite for Veterans Rally that happened today in Washington DC to tell the truth: they served with honor. And now, Trump and the Republican Party are trying to break America’s sacred promise to them and their families.
The signs, the photographs, the faces—they speak volumes. They tell the story of a fight that never should’ve been necessary: the fight to defend veterans and military families from betrayal at the highest levels of government.
We came out to say:
Protect veteran and military family jobs in the federal workforce
Stop the privatization and dismantling of the Department of Veterans Affairs
Hold politicians accountable when they harm those who served
To every veteran and service member, to every military family: we see you, we thank you, and we will never stop fighting for you. Your courage built this country. Your sacrifice gave it strength. And we will not stand by while that is dishonored.
But we must also face a painful truth:
Our government is failing you.
Worse, it’s being deliberately sabotaged by those who once swore an oath to protect it.
Donald Trump—convicted felon, disgraced former president—has betrayed the very people he was entrusted to lead. On January 6th, 2021, as the Capitol was attacked, he refused to act. As Commander-in-Chief, he abandoned law enforcement and our democracy in its moment of crisis. His silence wasn't just cowardice—it was complicity.
And his betrayal didn’t end there.
Trump has endangered our national security by unlawfully hoarding classified documents. He has praised dictators like Hitler and Putin—an unforgivable insult to generations of Americans who fought and died to defeat fascism.
Now, in his second term, Trump is slashing over 80,000 jobs from the Department of Veterans Affairs. He’s gutting staff, halting life-saving clinical trials, and pushing for full privatization of the VA—putting veterans’ care and lives on the chopping block. Over 1,000 veterans with metastatic cancer, kidney failure, and other severe conditions have been stripped of treatment options.
And just this year, he fired key personnel from the NSA and Cyber Command, weakening our national defenses—seemingly for political gain.
This is not leadership.
It’s sabotage. It’s betrayal. It’s an abandonment of duty.
Trump and his enablers are defiling the sacrifice of our veterans while enriching themselves and silencing dissent. This isn’t “America First”—it’s corruption first. And it’s putting lives and liberty at risk.
So today, we speak out.
We honor our veterans by standing up for them. We defend democracy by fighting back against those who seek to destroy it. We choose freedom over fascism, duty over deceit, people over profit.
The time is now. Join us. Speak out. Organize. Vote.
Because the greatest way to honor those who served is to protect the country they swore to defend.

I watched on my favorite network since 1/20/25 (CSPAN). I watched the rally - it was beautiful. I was uplifted, sad, smiled, cried! One word Question - Why? Why must they fight? They already have. I hold my highest level of gratitude for our Veterans. One of my rally posters state, “You stood for US, we stand for YOU”! I always have, I always will! Without our Veterans we would not have the freedom we currently have. IMHO they deserve free housing, for life, top notch medical/psychiatric care, free education, steak and lobster at whim, hugs and kisses, and a 93 million dollar parade on VETERANS DAY! Every year!
My husband was a Vietnam veteran. He died of complications due to AO. He was not a sucker!!!
