Everyone deserves to live in a community free of gun violence.
Unfortunately, we have some very naughty lawmakers who are enabling gun manufacturers, sellers, and special interest groups to disregard our public safety and commit negligent and harmful acts on our community with zero accountability.
They are being shielded by an outdated law that protects them from lawsuits. No other industry gets this type of privilege, and quite frankly, it borders on corruption as many lawmakers benefit from donations to their campaigns from gun manufacturers and special interests.
As champions for progress, we believe that everyone who is eligible should be allowed to own a gun.
Our state and federal laws need to be updated to define eligibility better:
- Require background checks on all gun sales and ammunition sales
- Have a red flag law
- Prevent domestic abusers from accessing guns
- Ban assault weapons
- Limit magazine capacity
- Ban bump stocks
- Require concealed carry permits
- Restrict open-carry
- Ban firearms in libraries, schools, and hospitals
- Have a waiting period
- Allow victims of gun violence to have their day in court and that gun manufacturers, sellers, and interest groups are not shielded from liability when acting with negligence and disregard for public safety.

I’m calling today because there is a law that has shielded the gun industry and denied gun violence survivors their constitutional right to justice for over 15 years. No industry should be above the law, so I’m calling to urge him/her to cosponsor Representative Adam Schiff’s bill to allow gun violence survivors their day in court. The bill is H.R. 4184 and S. 2048 Can you please flag the bill for the Congressman/woman as well as your staffer that handles gun violence prevention?

Whatever our color, background, or zip code, most believe everyone deserves to live their best life. In this community, we will always speak out against racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, homophobia, misogyny, sexism, ageism, ableism, sizeism, transphobia, misogynoir, elitism, and bigotry!
We can not wait until the next election cycle; we must act now to protect our democracy. Join us to learn how to defend our vote and voice in our democracy. Join us for our next meeting to discuss the issues, what's at stake, and how to propel action so everyone can vote and thrive.
We must also push for strong leaders on the local, state, and federal levels to protect our rights and freedoms and hold them accountable.
Lastly, we must invest in our communities. Today's investments in our children, seniors, workers, housing, healthcare, environment, safe neighborhoods, and other areas will strengthen our nation.

2024 Presidential Debate
This is it. Freedom vs. Fascism. It’s Trump versus Biden for the 2024 Presidential Debate. Rather than anxiously watching the debate alone, join us to watch the debate together and take action.

Not only do we deserve to live in a community free of gun violence, the majority has repeatedly voted to do so only to have it fall on deaf ears.
If we were to pass a law that says owning ammunition for any AR-15 or AK-47 or any other assault-type rifle to be illegal and the ammunition were not available (to be sold) to the public— that would be the same thing as having an assault weapons ban— at least until the nut jobs run out of ammunition.
