📢 Alert: Republicans want American women Barefoot and Pregnant
🚨 We could lose our right to plan our families if we don’t act. 🚨
Republicans want the women of America to be barefoot and pregnant.
First, Republicans came for Abortion. For over 50 years in America, women and their families were protected by a constitutional right to an abortion, which medical professionals have deemed safe.
Then we lost that right and that protection.
Then Republicans came for IVF. Despite millions of families experiencing infertility and wanting families, they needed to control that as well. Alabama was the first state to rule against IVF, but it won't be the last.
State personhood bills are popping up all over the country. Extremists are chipping away at our right to the pill, IUDs, plan B, and IVF through legislation and the courts.
In the two years since the fall of Roe:
195 House Republicans voted against the Right to Contraception Act.1
IVF came under attack, where the State Supreme court tried to ban it in Alabama, and remains under threat.
13 states have introduced fetal personhood bills in 2024, which is a “gateway for restricting contraception” and could ban common forms of birth control, including IUDs.
14 states have a total abortion ban, with 27 other states having abortion bans based on gestational duration.
Ten Republican state legislatures (AL, AZ, FL, GA, IA, LA, MS, NC, TN, WI) have voted against, blocked, or did not allow a floor vote on the Right to Contraception Act; two Republican governors vetoed it (NV and VA).
Right-wing lawmakers and anti-choice organizations across the country have regularly claimed some forms of birth control are abortifacients.
Right wing groups are trying to end the ability for women to receive emergency care in hospitals because they may be given an abortion. The Supreme Court may let them, with a decision pending that could end decades of bipartisan agreement over the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) and allow doctors who perform emergency abortions to be prosecuted.
Republicans want the women of America to be barefoot and pregnant. Their agenda is clear. They want to control our bodies, our choices, and our families.
We can not let them take our Contraception. Please take a moment and do two things today:
