Woohoo! It’s Thursday! We are almost to the weekend folks! I wanted to bring to your attention two issues that need our advocacy: DeSantis and Justice Thomas.
America needs to wake up to Florida's nightmare.
I have lived in Florida for over 30 years so believe me when I tell you DeSantis is an authoritarian and is dangerous to our freedoms and civil rights. Yesterday he fired an elected official, a black woman, Florida state attorney Monique Worrell, accusing her of being soft on crime1. She did her job well and was fired in my opinion because she didn't cower to DeSantis and his cronies. This is the fourth elected official DeSantis has removed for political reasons2. Folks have asked, how is DeSantis allowed to remove elected officials? Unfortunately Florida has empowered the Governor to suspend elected officials on trumped up charges. Yes it is likely to go to court, but Florida courts take forever and they are very conservative.

Congress needs to investigate the shenanigans at the Supreme Court
ProPublica is reporting that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas accepted more gifts from billionaire benefactors.3 There is no justice in a nation that has a compromised court. We need Congress to investigate these immoral and possibly illegal acts by Justice Clarence Thomas.
