Citizens United's Legacy & the Trump 2025 Administration: A Crisis of Democracy and a Call to Action

We are living through a dark and dangerous moment—not brought on by diplomacy, but by the reckless arrogance of Donald Trump and his enablers: Pete Hegseth, Marco Rubio, J.D. Vance, Russ Vought, and Stephen Miller. A fourth-grade gang of bullies masquerading as leaders—drunk on power, devoid of strategy, crushing dissent, and selling out our democracy to the highest bidder.

They promised leadership.

They promised diplomacy.

They promised peace.

They lied.

They are not leaders.

They are cowards.

Cowards who abuse power behind closed doors while claiming immunity from the very Constitution they swore to uphold.

If you're filled with a deep and growing sense that something is wrong, you are not alone. The corruption and abuse are happening right in front of us. And it's not subtle.

These aren't isolated incidents. They're symptoms of a system warped by Citizens United, a Supreme Court decision that blew open the floodgates of corporate cash and billionaire influence. It allowed the wealthiest elites to buy elections, write policy in backrooms, and silence the rest of us through sheer financial force. ¹

The Corruption Pipeline: Citizens United in Action

The 2024 election was awash in dark money, with outside groups spending over $2 billion. ² Donald Trump leaned heavily on super PACs financed by mega-donors like Elon Musk, who funneled more than $270 million into pro-Trump political efforts.³ In exchange, his companies received regulatory carve-outs and lucrative federal contracts.

From memecoin dinners at Trump golf courses to crypto influence at the White House, pay-to-play politics has reached new levels of brazen corruption. Trump and his enablers want a future where political loyalty is currency, where dissent is punished, and where only the rich have a voice.

They're not just enriching themselves—they're silencing critics, gutting watchdogs, and rewriting the rules.

This isn't "politics as usual."

This is a crisis of democracy.
