I am a Code Pink Woman for peace, and these comments come from Code Pink because they express my opinions better than I could. "We are appalled that NO progressives are saying what the majority of American people are saying: We need peace talks, not more war.The war in Ukraine is a disaster for the people of Ukraine and a terrible threat to us all, including increasing the danger of nuclear war. We oppose the Russian invasion while recognizing that the expansion of NATO and the aggressive approach of Western nations have helped cause the crisis, and we demand an end to NATO expansion. We also oppose sanctions that will harm ordinary Russians and call on all countries to welcome refugees fleeing the war. Join us as we build a massive, unified response with peace-loving people around the world to say No to War in Ukraine; Yes to Negotiations and Peace." Thank you.
I received this response a week or so back on how we can deal with this:
Pete, our government's actions are not all that we have. As citizens of a free country, we have the greatest privilege of all: to help Ukraine ourselves.
The Ukrainian government accepts donations at united24 (https://u24.gov.ua/). Another recommended effort is the Come Back Alive Foundation (https:l/savelife.in.ua/en/) If you prefer to help with humanitarian aid, many c provide it, from the UN and the International Red Cross to others recommended by Professor Timothy Snyder (https://snyder.substack.com/p/how-to-help-ukraine-now)If 50 million Europeans and Americans were to donate $1,000, we could almost completely replace the aid being held back by Congress. This is doable--if Americans will take their responsibilities as the citizens of a free country to heart.
Me responding today to the people who are against supporting Ukraine and letting Putin continue taking other peoples lands:
"Thanks for sharing. Last time I checked it was Russia that invaded Ukraine. If anyone ever invaded the US, would you avoid asking for help from allies?
Many countries have been in talks with both countries to stop the war but unfortunately Russia is still an aggressor and is still invading Ukraine."
I would love to see Ukraine, blow up anything in Russia, since the Russians are destroying anything and everything they are able in Ukraine. I'd like to see a building with Putin in it, get hit by a rocket or something to take him out and show Russia. Ukraine is going to win this war. I'm so frustrated, Ukraine hasn't done this by now. Long Live Ukraine!!!
Last time I checked it was Russia who invaded Ukraine. Our ally partner has asked for help and I believe in standing with partners. Russia needs to leave Ukraine.
People that do nothing but complain... At least we are doing something. Last time I checked it was Russia not the US that invaded Ukraine. I don't support war for war's sake, but I do not believe in turning our back on an ally. Ukraine has asked for help, and I believe we should help.
I used to be a Pacifist but this War was such flagrant Russian aggression that I want to support Ukraine.

I agree the ongoing negotiations and the peace talks are vital for progress in Ukraine.
Peace and prosperity to all who strive to have an increasingly better world.

HELP UKRAINE. DONATE TO ELENSKYY PLEASE.
Last time I checked it was Russia who invaded Ukraine. Our ally partner has asked for help and I believe in standing with partners. Russia needs to leave Ukraine.
And please DO explain how “we backed Russia into a corner.”
Try offering a solution. Complaints are easy. Solutions take work, will, sacrifice and compromise.
