📢 Friends, I'm pissed
🗽People Power United is a grassroots group of over 250,000+ members in all 50 states. We champion progress and power to the people.

Friends, I'm pissed. I went to sleep pissed, and I woke up even more fired up.
Let me say this loud—for the fearmongers like Trump, Rubio, Miller, Bondi, and everyone else in the cult of obedience:
We want safe borders.
We want strong communities.
We want everyone treated with dignity and respect.
We want a country where people have the opportunity to thrive and where due process under the law still matters.
We want our leaders to do their damn job and pass just immigration reform.
No one is asking for murderers, rapists, or violent criminals to enter this country and threaten our neighborhoods. But let's talk about who's threatening us right now—because it's not the single moms, students, workers, or fathers seeking safety.
It's the Trump administration.
What they are doing right now is criminal.
Late yesterday, we learned a 2-year-old American citizen—yes, a toddler—was deported against the wishes of her father who lives in the US. That is kidnapping. 1
Silencing voices of opposition? That's criminal.
Ignoring court orders? Criminal.
Disappearing people into foreign torture prisons after a judge says you can't? Criminal.
This is not national security. It's authoritarianism. It's fascism with an American flag wrapped around it.
And if we don't call it what it is and fight back with everything we've got—we all become complicit.
Due Process: Why It Matters for Every One of Us
When most people hear the term "due process," they think of courtroom dramas or law school textbooks. But the truth is, due process is woven into the fabric of our everyday lives—and when it's denied to one person, it's a threat to everyone.
Due process is your right to fair treatment under the law. It's protected by the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments of the Constitution, and it applies to every person in the United States—not just citizens. It ensures that before the government can take away your life, liberty, or property, you are given notice, a hearing, and a chance to defend yourself.
Here are some everyday examples:
At work, due process might look like being given a written warning and a chance to respond before being fired.
At school, a student facing expulsion has a right to know the charges and tell their side of the story.
If you get a parking ticket, due process allows you to contest it in court.
If you're arrested, due process ensures you are informed of your rights, can speak to an attorney, and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Now imagine if one day the government decided it didn't need to follow any of those steps. Imagine being fired, expelled, jailed—or even deported—without explanation, evidence, or a hearing. That's not just unfair—it's un-American.
Due process is the dam that holds back authoritarian overreach. A single crack weakens the whole foundation—let enough cracks form, and the entire structure collapses. -HG
This Isn't Just One Case—It's a Pattern of Government Abuse
What happened to Kilmar Abrego Garcia is horrifying. But it's not an anomaly. It's part of a broader campaign by the Trump administration to erase due process, silence dissent, and weaponize immigration enforcement against anyone they deem undesirable.
Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University graduate student and lawful permanent resident, was taken by ICE agents and imprisoned in Louisiana.
Rümeysa Öztürk, a Tufts University Ph.D. student, was abducted off the street by masked DHS agents who never identified themselves. She, too, is being held in Louisiana without a hearing.
Neiyerver Adrián Leon Rengel, a Dallas barbershop worker, was secretly sent to a torture prison in El Salvador. His family wasn't even told for 40 days.
And Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland father of three special needs children who had legal protection to live and work in the U.S.—was illegally rendered to the very same brutal prison in El Salvador.
These are not terrorists. No evidence of crimes has been presented. These are not isolated incidents. They are calculated. And they are spreading.
The Rhetoric of Tyranny: Stephen Miller's Chilling Threat
The most chilling part? They're telling us exactly what they plan to do.
Here's what Stephen Miller, Trump's deputy chief of staff and architect of these inhumane policies, said just days ago:
"We have federal judges telling President Trump that he can't deport these threats from our communities? This is the choice facing every American: Either we all side, and get behind, President Trump, to remove these terrorists... or we let a rogue, radical-left judiciary shut down the machinery of our national security apparatus... President Trump will make this country safer... over the fighting and opposition of the far-left federal bureaucracy. He will not be deterred."
Let that sink in.
This high-ranking U.S. official says that court orders, legal protections, and constitutional rights don't matter—only the will of one man: Donald Trump.
Why This Matters to Every American
This is not about immigration. It's about power. It's about testing whether the government can erase your rights and get away with it.
If this can happen to Khalil, Öztürk, Rengel, and Garcia—it can happen to you.
If federal judges can be dismissed as "Communist" and the Constitution ignored, none of us are safe. Not journalists. Not students. Not parents. Not citizens.
This is a fight for the soul of America. Will we be a country of laws—or of men who believe they are above the law?
We must rise. Not just for the victims. But for ourselves.
Because when due process dies, democracy dies with it.
Because no one is above the law—and no one should live in fear of their government.
Right now, the far-right is attacking our freedoms, our democracy, and our future. But here’s the truth: we are not powerless. This is our moment to rise—for an America where "liberty and justice for all" means all, not just the wealthy and well-connected.
