🛑 Part 1: Tyranny Takes the Wheel — Trump's Authoritarian Power Grab in 100 Days

Fascism does not arrive with fanfare; it creeps in through the shadows of apathy and the silence of good people who choose inaction.
History warns us that tyranny thrives on the zeal of its loudest supporters and on the inaction of those who know better. In just 100 days, Donald Trump has confirmed what many feared—he has no intention of governing as a president bound by law. He is ruling as an autocrat emboldened by silence, apathy, and unchecked power.
Despite his return to the White House, let’s be clear: Donald Trump may hold the title of President, but his actions reveal a man bent on dividing the nation and oppressing the very people he was elected to serve.
Nearly 80% of people who call America home didn't vote for him. 1 He rules through fear, lies, and brute force—not competence, vision, or integrity.
His first 100 days have been a relentless campaign to dismantle democracy from within, defying the courts, purging the civil service, and silencing dissent.
And now, he's setting the stage for a dictatorship.
🚨 Day One Dictatorship
On day one, Trump wasted no time. He signed 37 executive orders—each more alarming than the last. He attacked birthright citizenship, demonized immigrants, and targeted trans and non-binary Americans. 2 He even fantasized—publicly—about "one violent day" of police brutality as the answer to crime. 3
This isn't law and order. This is authoritarianism by design.
By day 100, Trump had declared war on due process, re-empowered militarized policing, and ordered his Attorney General, Pam Bondi, to prosecute state and local officials who support DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion). He gave local police access to military-grade equipment, promised them immunity, and launched a DOJ program to defend officers accused of abuse—all while threatening to prosecute sanctuary cities and gut civil rights protections.
And when the courts tried to stop his unlawful mass deportations?
He ignored them.
He defied a 9-0 Supreme Court ruling and attacked judges who tried to enforce it. 4
This is not normal. This is not a leader who champions the people.
📜 Trump's Imperial Presidency: A Constitution in Crisis
Trump and his enablers have dusted off authoritarian playbooks used in Russia, Hungary, El Salvador, and Venezuela. He invokes the Alien Enemies Act—a wartime law from 1798—to deport people without trial or evidence. He taunts judges. He ignores court orders. And his administration shrugs at the law, boasting: "I don't care what the judges think." 5
His goal is clear: abolish checks and balances and concentrate all power in his hands.
This isn't just rhetoric. Trump has embraced a dangerous theory—that Article II of the Constitution gives him total control. Vice President JD Vance said the quiet part out loud: "Judges aren't allowed to control the executive." 6
In other words, Trump’s word is law—and anyone who defies it must be punished. This blatantly attacks the Constitution’s assertion of co-equal branches of government.
That is not democracy. That is the very definition of tyranny.
⚠️ This Is How It Starts
They started by banning DEI programs.
Then they fired 17 independent inspectors general.
Then, they erased LGBTQ+ protections and websites.
Then, they removed safeguards for asylum-seekers and targeted student activists.
Then, they attacked centers for independent thought in public and private universities.
Then, they laid the ground for prisons and deportation centers to deny people due process.
All while Trump floods the media with lies, fear, and propaganda.
This is how authoritarian regimes rise—not with tanks, but with paperwork, purges, and propaganda. Not by breaking the law overnight, but by bending it until it breaks.
We've seen this movie before. We know how it ends.
✊ But We Still Have a Choice
This is not the end of our story—it is the moment that demands we rise.
