📢 Power to the People Includes Free Speech — Part 3: Reclaiming Our Voice, Rebuilding Our Power
🗽People Power United is a grassroots group of over 250,000+ members in all 50 states-powered by people like YOU. We champion progress and power to the people.
Let’s be clear: they want us to give up. They want us to believe our voices don’t matter. That our protest doesn’t move the needle. That democracy is already lost.
But they’re wrong.
Our voices are our power — precisely why they’re being attacked. If the First Amendment didn’t matter, they wouldn’t work so hard to take it away.
So what do we do? We rise. We resist. We rebuild.
Speak Out, Even When It’s Hard
Authoritarians thrive on fear. They rely on silence. That’s why your voice — your posts, signs, and stories — matter. When you raise your voice, someone else finds the courage to raise theirs.
Speak out in public. Speak out at work. Speak at school board meetings, city council sessions, and town halls. Challenge censorship. Question power. Defend others when they’re silenced.
Silence is compliance. And we will not comply.
Show Up, Even When It’s Inconvenient
Change doesn’t come from comfort. It comes from showing up. Protests, rallies, school walkouts, sit-ins, vigils, and forums remind the powerful that we are watching — and we will not go quietly.
Your presence tells the truth louder than any spin. And when we show up together, the ground shakes.
Build People Power — Together
No one wins this fight alone. People Power means building networks, communities, and coalitions to withstand repression and keep fighting.
Join the rallies happening on May 1. Join us on Sunday for Rapid Response for Our Freedoms. Write letters and Postcards. Share petitions. Help register voters. Defend the free press. Support whistleblowers. Run for office — volunteer for candidates who support civil liberties. Organize digital campaigns. Chip in to help organizations doing the heavy lift for democracy. Build mutual aid. Protect each other.
Our power multiplies when we work together. The Trump regime is counting on us to act alone and burn out. But we build — and we endure.
Hope Is a Discipline
As Angela Davis reminds us: “I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept.”
We cannot accept a future where silence is mandatory and dissent is criminalized.
We cannot accept a democracy that only survives in name.
And we will not accept that our children grow up in a country where free speech is a relic of the past.
We will fiercely advocate for our rights, freedoms, rule of law, and our democracy.
Because free speech is not just a right — it’s a responsibility.
And we, the people, will not be silenced.
To everyone reading this:
Let our voices be the drop that starts the ripple,
the ripple that builds the wave,
the wave that becomes a tsunami —
lifting every voice that fights for justice,
that demands progress,
that amplifies power to the people
— and drowns out the roar of fascism for good.
✊ Power to the People. Always.
