We have a choice.
We can stay silent, play small, and hope the bullies don't come for us next.
Or we can stand up, speak out, and reclaim the power that has always belonged to us.
The truth is, our families, our freedoms, and our democracy are under attack—from Elon Musk to Donald Trump, from MAGA extremists to Putin's propaganda machine.
But here's what they don't want you to know:
Their power only works if we give in to fear.
Fear is the weapon of tyrants.
It isolates us. It paralyzes us. It makes us forget our worth.
But courage—especially when it's shared—is more powerful.
It's how we challenge injustice. It's how we protect each other.
And it's how we win.
After Trump won in 2016, I spent two days crying on the couch. I saw the harm coming, and I was terrified.
But then I remembered President Obama's words:
"Don't get mad. Get organized."
That was my turning point.
My first protest was in Miami.
I made a sign and joined others to speak out against the city's move to ban sanctuary protections. I was scared—but more afraid of what would happen if I stayed silent.
That was my first step. I haven't stopped since.
Eight years later, I lead America's largest grassroots organization, with over 250,000 members across all 50 states. (You also have the power to create a movement in your community, neighborhood, city, or state!)
We didn't get here by writing checks or relying on political parties.
We arrived by showing up and believing the people still hold power in this democracy.
People power isn't about titles or positions.
It's about you. It's about me.
It's about what happens when ordinary people come together to demand justice and build a better world.
We believe everyone deserves the following:
Dignity — with access to housing, healthcare, and education
Opportunity — regardless of race, age, gender, sexuality, or status
Safety — clean air and water, and communities free from gun violence
And we speak out against every form of bigotry:
Racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, homophobia, misogyny, sexism, ageism, ableism, sizeism, transphobia, misogynoir, and elitism.
Because liberty and justice for all isn't just a slogan—it's a promise we intend to keep.
To those who say, "Nothing will ever change,"—I hear you.
It's easy to feel hopeless when politicians go rogue and sell out their constituents.
But I believe in something stronger than corruption:
Us.
Nearly 80% of people who call America home did not vote for Trump. That means the power is still in our hands—not his.
So if you're feeling angry, scared, or helpless—good.
That means you care.
Now it's time to act.
Show up to a Hands-Off rally.
Make a sign.
Knock on doors, make phone calls, do texting for candidates that champion progress.
Talk to your neighbors.
Use your voice—because it matters.
We don't fight hate with more hate.
We fight it with love, courage, and action.
Every time we speak up, march, organize, and vote, we build a future rooted in truth, justice, and community.
That's how we reclaim our power.
Let this be the moment we rise with courage —
Not with fear but with hope.
Not with silence, but with action.
Not alone, but together.
Let's remind America—and the world—that this country shines brightest when its people lead the way, centering liberty and justice for all.
