📢 PUSH BACK against another BIG LIE
America is brave because you are. And we need that bravery now more than ever.
I want to shout out our paid subscribers! I have been busy sending out bumper stickers, yard signs, and more this past week. Your generosity helps boost our People Power efforts to advocate for a community where everyone can thrive.
The big lie that the 2020 election was stolen has, in some ways, succeeded.
It's crucial to recognize that a portion of our population still holds the belief that Biden lost the election to Trump, and therefore, is not America's President. This belief, whether we agree with it or not, directly impacts our lives and the direction of our nation.
Equally disturbing is that Trump is running as the Republican Presidential candidate and continuing to spew his lies about elections.
Do you believe that Trump and his followers will respect the outcome of the elections if he loses and accept Joe Biden as the President of the United States? All signs indicate he will not.
Did you know that across America, around 95,000 polling sites are run by our neighbors?1 The sites include poll workers, poll watchers, and election officials who work on behalf of our communities. We must respect their efforts and push back against a big lie that diminishes their efforts to ensure safe and secure elections. I would submit that the BIG LIE took hold because a minority group kept repeating the lie, and too many good folks stayed quiet.
I believe the BIG Lie will continue to grow unless we, the people, stand up and defend our communities. We are a country of people—not Democrats or Republicans. We are a nation of moms, dads, abuelas, abuelos, aunties, uncles, and chosen family and friends. And our American family has lost its way. We have forgotten we belong to one another and that we are our brothers' and sisters' keepers. We have wayward leaders who have abandoned this family.
We need to meet our challenges head-on. And yes there will be naysayers who have lost hope. But I believe the second most significant threat to this family, aside from crazed conservatives, MAGA extremists, and radical Republicans, are the "dream busters" — those who make excuses not to take action.
Lift your head and ignore them. I have hope in my American family. I know we are not perfect. I know we are a work in progress. Some leaders may or may not change their ways. But we will not let their choices talk us out of advocating for this family. We will call, click, tweet, door knock, donate, and write postcards and letters, and we will continue to do so because we must stand up and speak out when our family is under attack.
We must advocate on issues and work to mobilize voters to elect candidates that will represent the will of the people. And we must push back against the cult's attempt to silence our dissent. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Our cause is just; we are led by people power, and with love in our hearts and hard work, we will reclaim our nation from the cruelty, chaos, and confusion we are experiencing.
