I say this comment with love, but there are some things that stood out to me in this article that I wish were positioned differently:
- Israel is not just complicit in the death of thousands of Gazan women and children, but men as well. The men are the heroes digging through rubble with their bare hands to pull out survivors, and it’s high time we stop dehumanizing the Arab man, they are deserving of just as much empathy.
- Yes, every state has a right to defend itself, but I think that entire framework needs to change to “Every occupying force has a responsibility to protect those it occupies” as well
The Palestinians have been getting hammered by evil right wing Israelis for over half a century. They have deserved freedom, a homeland and self government since 1948. No wonder they're pissed off. Netanyahu and his ilk have been among the greatest political failures in mid-east history. Why they have ever deserved American support is beyond me. They are every bit as evil as the Nazis were. Do Israelis ever actually look in the mirror? A two-state solution is the only way forward and the time for it is NOW. Regrettable and ironic how so many murders had to happen before we could get to here.
I don't think it's fair to call Hamas a Terrorist Organization but not the IDF. What they are doing is genocide...period. Be fair. Free all the Palestenian ppl and the Isreali hostages.
Ceasefire, yes, absolutely. "Two-state solution: NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT! There's only ONE solution towards peace: a ONE-STATE SOLUTION: THE STATE OF PALESTINE.
