Before we dive into today’s post, I want to reshare our brand-new People Power United video titled: Power to the People: We Rise, which premiered yesterday on YouTube. I hope you enjoy it!

The Left’s Blind Spot

In today's information war, the message matters, but messengers matter more. While pollsters meticulously study the words that "work," too little attention is paid to who is delivering those words and where the conversation is taking place. That glaring oversight is hurting us in our fight for our rights, freedoms, rule of law, and democracy.

If you've ever wondered how millions of people fell for Trump's Big Lie or still believe a man convicted of 34 felonies is a hero for the working class, you're not alone. Many people express disbelief: How can so many people be so misled? But here's the strategic insight we often overlook: a Big Lie only works if repeated, but so does a Big Truth.

And the reality is, we're simply not repeating our values enough, not nearly enough to break through the right-wing noise machine that's captured America's screens, scrolls, and algorithms.

Let's look at the American landscape. If one were to walk into a room of 347 people to share a message about housing, healthcare, education, and justice—you'd be appalled to find that 244 people are already glued to right-wing content. That's not an exaggeration; that's data-backed reality. 1

According to Media Matters (2025), of the top 320 political shows, 82% were right-leaning. On YouTube, two-thirds of the top shows tilt conservative. Rumble, the platform built as a safe haven for MAGA content, boasts 78 million right-wing users, many profiting from peddling propaganda.

In other words, our town square for sharing information that is free and fair for folks to gather information and make decisions has become a right-wing megaphone spewing propaganda.

Here's what the left-leaning and Democratic ecosystem gets wrong: it pours money into polls to determine what to say and who to tell it to but neglects the far more tactical question:

Where are people getting their information? And who do they trust enough to listen?

We've been conditioned to think that party leaders, polished ads, or some mythical media personality will carry our message. But those days are gone. The most powerful messengers are ordinary people—like YOU—speaking boldly in your communities, online and offline.

Currently, the numbers are not in our favor. If we take the last presidential election as a baseline:

  • Roughly 347 million people call America home (WorldoMeter, 2025)

  • If 86% of them consume news online, that means our digital movement needs to reach 297 million people online. (Pew Research, 2024)

  • The remaining 49 million people are best reached in person, on doors, in conversations, through direct community engagement

Meanwhile, too much left-leaning and Democratic outreach is still stuck in traditional methods like door-knocking and phone banking. While those efforts are essential, they're not enough to counter the nonstop flood of right-wing propaganda that saturates every corner of the internet, from YouTube shorts and Facebook groups to TikTok filters and beyond.

We Have the Message. Now We Need Messengers.

Let's be clear: we have the message.

At People Power United, we champion a vision that most Americans agree with:

  • Everyone deserves dignity — with access to housing, healthcare, and education.

  • Everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive — regardless of age, race, gender, sexuality, pronouns, religion, or job status.

  • Everyone deserves safety — clean air, clean water, and communities free from gun violence.

This is our "what." But what we need more of is our "who." That means all of us.

Too many people say, "The message isn't working." What they mean is not enough people are delivering it.

So what can we do? Here's your tactical assignment to championing progress and power to the people.

1. Be the Messenger.

Don't wait for permission to speak out. Take the core message, make it your own, and connect it to what's happening now. Post consistently and amplify trusted voices, hopefully, that includes People Power United. You don't need a platform. You are the platform.

2. Know the Landscape.

Reach people where they already are. (Pew Research, 2024)

  • Facebook and YouTube = are high-impact platforms where Americans regularly get their news. These platforms are evenly split—50% of news consumers lean right, and 50% lean left.

  • TikTok and Instagram = are strongholds for younger, left-leaning audiences. If you want to reach Gen Z and younger millennials, this is where they are.

  • Reddit, WhatsApp, and Nextdoor = are ideal spaces for neighborhood-level and community-based messaging. On these platforms, news consumers are more likely to be Democrats or left-leaning.

  • Start posting - With 86% of Americans saying they at least sometimes get their news online, we have an opportunity—and a responsibility—to meet them where they already are.

3. Use Relational Organizing.

Invite friends into conversations. Text your circle. Ask questions that open hearts instead of shutting down minds. Small ripples grow into waves.

4. Amplify the Good.

When leaders, organizations, or movements say something that uplifts liberty and justice for all, amplify it: share, repost, comment, and tag. We must be louder and more consistent if we want our ideas to spread.

A Call to Rise

The right didn't win the narrative war by being smarter. They won by being louder, faster, and everywhere all at once. They ensured their message echoed throughout every feed, podcast, and video stream.

Now it's our turn.

This isn't about being perfect. It's about being present.

It might seem like the right-wing megaphone is drowning us out online—and for now, that's partly true. But we are not outpowered. The truth is, nearly 80 percent of people who call America home did not vote for Trump or support his agenda to dismantle our rights, freedoms, the rule of law, or our democracy.

When ordinary people speak the truth in extraordinary numbers, we move mountains.

So join us. Show up. Speak out. Share the message. We need to build people power to ensure everyone in our community can thrive.

Because we have the truth, now let's make it echo.

This is a rough estimate based on national data: 347 million people live in the United States. Imagine a room with 347 people—one person for every million. If 86% of them get their news online, that’s about 298 people. Now consider that 82% of the top online news shows are right-leaning. That means roughly 244 people in that room are already tuned into a right-wing media ecosystem pushing propaganda.
