🗽Together, we can champion our rights, freedoms, rule of law, democracy, hold our leaders accountable to the people's will, and inspire voters to make a meaningful difference.
Let’s make some noise every day. At 6:00pm. You know like during the pandemic, except now it is to defeat fascism. Spread the word. Wherever you are. 15 minutes of making noise with pots or pans, or whatever will make a loud noise. Let’s start this. Make Some Noise! Drum out the hate! Shout out the fascists! 6:00 pm. Every day. Let’s do it! Spread the word. Say no to fascism!
David, I agree. I think we do need to do something like your suggestion. Something that is easy to do, inexpensive, and would be impossible to ignore. That idea wouldn't work where I live (no one nearby), but I could see your idea working and growing, catching people's attention. I joined a communication committee subgroup of my local county Democrat group, and someone mentioned an idea about how to get the word out that might work for our rural county, but I'm going to bring up the topic again and mention your idea, David. Maybe your idea could work somewhere in our community, or your idea could inspire the team to come up with an idea that would work in our community. If you're not already part of a local pro-democracy group, I recommend joining a group and taking your idea to that group to see how you can help.
I agree that boycotts are effective and so are mass demonstrations if they occur often enough, but making some noise, every day is not performative. It sends a message and will help to unite people. Do not poo poo it. It will be powerful.
I agree—every tactic has value, and we need them all to make an impact. Suggesting there’s only one “perfect” solution isn’t helpful given the scale of the threat we face. We’re confronting a fire unlike any other, and it would be a mistake to bring only water to fight it. We need a team, strong leadership, courage, creativity, collaboration, and a wide range of tools. Most of all, we need solutions that reach across our communities and inspire people from all walks of life to speak out and stand up for our rights and freedoms.
Thanks for all you are doing!
We must never give up!!! Some of us are "resting" a little this month, but batteries are being recharged to hit the ground hard in September!!
