“What’s gonna fix our democracy is you… The threat to our democracy doesn't just come from Donald Trump… the biggest threat to our democracy is indifference…" - Former President Barack Obama
You asked what inspires me to vote. If I have the right to vote and do not use it, I could lose it. I love the United States and I still believe in the things that I was taught that our Constitution provided for us. I am angry that today many of our rights have eroded over Extreme Conservatives ruling to erode those rights due to all kinds of prejudices and fears of losing power. I live abroad and getting registered to vote in Texas is not so simple. Still, I try to vote every two years. G-d bless America.
Our Right to vote is #1 most important Right for each and every Citizen. Attacks on our Voting Rights cannot be tolerated and these attacks must be stopped. Not only are these attacks illegal, they are proof that the attackers are afraid of We the People.
Voting is like a beach. One grain of sand floats around aimless and blown wherever the wind and sea may take it. On a beach, the many glue together protecting each other, forming a fermament that can withstand the wind and sea, hard pressed to be blown or washed away. Yes, the beach is moved and washed and blown. Even so, its community bond remains in spite of the fluid chaotic forces attacking it. One for all and all for one.
Voting together supports all of us to make a difference to each other, forming a stronger more resilient community.
Unfortunately, there are only 2 parties in this country that matter. So vote D for deliverance from republicon evil.
Fascism is entrenched in the xxxtreme RW cabal from top to bottom. A vote for ⸸rump or any of his corrupt cronies running, is a vote for the return of Adolph Hitler, only worse.
Don't let all of the veterans of WW 1 & 2 down who sacrificed their lives fighting fascism to keep America free! The cons do not support the veterans who gave their all.
I vote because I can. Millions of people around the world cannot vote. Their opinions, needs, dreams have no voice. In the USA we CAN vote, we can make our desires for our nation known. I have voted in every election I could for more than 50 years. My choices have not always prevailed. My preferences were not always the nation’s preferences. That is the nature of a democracy. But to choose to be silent about the directions our nation will move in the future makes no sense to me. Make your voice heard, you opinions known, your priorities clear. Be the voice of freedom and choice for the future.
Truthfully I voted for Kamala Harris except that she was Vice President. President Biden benefitted from that vote. That is only time that I voted for a Vice President instead of a president.
Freedom from Fascism , Communism, or any form of autocracy, or dictatorship. Most of all to keep trump and his Fascist Republicans from ruining our rule of law, our constitution, our Democratic Republic for their own power and personal financial wealth!
There is nothing - NOTHING!! - more precious than Freedom. Without it, you don't get to cherish your children and grandchildren. Without it, you may not see tomorrow. Without it, someone else has control over your life. Do you need any more reason than that to get your dead ass off the couch and go vote? Is your freedom that meaningless to you? Then get your ass up and go VOTE!!!!!
I disagree. If we are dead because we cannot breathe or have any water or food, then nothing else matters. If we do not save life on Earth (and that means life in all of its diversity) then we are dead and nothing else matters.
Biden: A centrist working both sides of the aisle to move policy, Trump and DeSantis: A dictator wannabee, No Labels like Cornell West: A centrist with zero experience or plan except to complain and complain and complain who wants to work both sides. I will take Biden anyday over West. And for what its worth I am a progressive and would of rather seen Bernie lead, but for now will listen to Bernie who has endorsed Biden.
I agree wholeheartedly! Unfortuntely, Bernie is as honest as he is pragmatic and his decorum follows suit. I love the man and wish he could have captured 2020 as he captured our hearts!

Thanks for sharing and for voting! You are a rockstar, keep pushing for progress in Texas!

I agree! We are not only voting for us and this moment in time.
Nothing inspires me to vote. Voting is a duty. You have to

I see these interconnected as well. We need to vote to affect the policies that matter to us.

Feel the Bern! That was my choice as well. He got screwed by his own party, the Blue Dog Dems....almost as bad as the fascist cons!

Bad move. That's throwing rump a bone that he will use to beat you and yours over the head with.
Cornell is a 3rd party siphon. It's Biden or death for 2024!
