I have some questions.

I understand that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has halted much of its work to investigate and penalize corporate wrongdoing. Wasn’t the CFPB authorized and funded by Congress? If so, does President Trump have the authority to halt much of its work and effectively disband it? Is a group of lawyers (e.g., the ACLU or the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law) planning to file a lawsuit? If they are requesting contributions, can you provide to all your readers the name of the group and the address to which donations can be mailed?

Yes it was funded by Congress and no he doesn't have the authority to halt it. Of course we support the ACLu and that is a great idea, I will make sure to include them on outgoing communications. Here is there address: If you’d like to send a check to the ACLU, please address it to the ACLU c/o the Gift Processing Department, 125 Broad Street, 18th Floor, New York, NY 10004. Please designate if it is a gift to the American Civil Liberties Union
