People Power United statement on why President Joe Biden has not published the ERA
🗽A well informed citizenry is the best defense against tyranny.

In light of President Joe Biden’s inaction on the Equal Rights Amendment, People Power United—a grassroots organization with 200,000+ members across all 50 states—released the following statement:
It is deeply disappointing that President Biden, who has often spoken about his commitment to women, veterans, people of different ages, religions, abilities, and race, has not yet shown his support for the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) by instructing the archivist to publish it. While legal challenges are inevitable, those are matters for the courts to decide. What we must ask is why the President has chosen to stand against the majority of Americans who support equality under the law. Are we not worthy of the promise of equal rights enshrined in the ERA? It's time for President Biden to match his words with action and affirm the values of fairness and justice for all. - Laurie Woodward Garcia

To me not signing the ERA symbolizes the perplexing resistance to move forward that has overshadowed progressive leadership for a long time now. Our faint will was noticed and exploited by other people in power who prefer to destroy instead of build. I am glad People Power United is still fighting.
